This …. What does it mean on MN?

Occasionally I see replies to comments on MN and the reply is only the word:

This

Is it an acronym, or some sarcasm? Does anyone know? If so, pls explain.

OP posts:

It just means when someone agrees with another commenr

lazyarse123 · 12/09/2024 15:50

When I use it it means I agree with that poster so don't need to type it all out again.

I do it when I agree with a poster, and think what they've said or how well they've articulated it (often better than I feel able to), is worth repeating (hence the quote and then the "this").

It’s very self explanatory.

😁😁.

OP, you'll normally only see it when it's replying to a quoted post....it's just agreeing with that post in entirety !

Whatisyourfavouriteflower · 12/09/2024 16:01

I think it's a really good way of agreeing with what a pp has said.
Also OP I do think it is quite obvious what it means!

Yes, as PP have said, it just means "I completely agree" with what has been quoted.

If, on the other hand, they strongly disagreed, they would still use the same four letters, but in a slightly different order Grin

Used when people can somehow be bothered to post, but not be bothered to even type 'I agree' and contribute further by explaining why they agree.

It's a minor step up from just grunting like a troglodyte, but gives us all something to do while we scroll through the gigantic post they've quoted. I sometimes do it just to be a cunt, although not on here Grin

greenshade · 12/09/2024 16:51

I learned not long ago that EOW means every other weekend NOT every other woman.

cakeorwine · 12/09/2024 18:17

"What they said"

Basically.
