It's not okay to single out women with the name Karen this way. What do they hope to gain from this attempt at humiliation?

That paper is a pile of shite anyway, universally derided in its hometown for only being able to nick stories from other sources and generally being a joke.

Anyone can send in an FOI and then the police have to respond. I'm guessing WY police routinely publish their responses. It's not really newsworthy though and I would question the need for the article and headline, which is clearly just clickbait and a sad reflection of how far local journalism has fallen.

I'm sure WYP will soon be publishing the number of Andrews in their force undermining society by nicking drugs out of the evidence stash to sell, and/or harassing women. I bet it's more than 17.

You'll get people coming on to say that Karen isn't misogynistic as it's only ever used about racist women, even though we all know it's used to shut women up. And apparently men don't need a slur as they aren't racist or something.
Then you'll get people saying that actually there is a male equivalent slur, but no one will be able to agree what it is. Ken or Kevin or Derek or Sammy etc.

Yes it is, and yes I fell for it because it's a horrible thing to do to a small group of women. Comments on the article were disabled, unsurprisingly.

Just to remind you all that West Yorkshire Police had men who accepted hospitality from Jimmy Savile. I doubt all who did have retired by now.
