To want to buy a coat without bear ears on the hood

I realise some people might think they are cute, but I really hate them. I want to buy a nice winter coat and a hooded jacket for my toddler, but I'm struggling to find ones that don't have bear ears on them. Why do brands insist on including them? Has anyone ever unpicked the stitches to take them off? (This is a very light hearted post, I'm not losing sleep over it)

I can and have found plenty of coats without bear ears on. I bought my son a rain coat the other day with dinosaurs and that doesn’t have ears/teeth whatever on it. Just a pattern on a normal rain coat.

My daughter is 3 and I've never bought her a coat with bear ears 😂 What am I missing?

@Lulubo1 I got my daughter a gorgeous fleece lined raincoat from Primark recently- rainbow coloured pattern (not sure if that's your taste but I love it), and most importantly a hood with no ears in sight 😂

I only have boys, but never had a coat with ears!! Maybe look in the boys section?

Next and M&S.... Not all their coats, but all the coat styles that I like have bear ears on. I'm picky, I know 🙃

Having just bought a winter jacket for my DGS, I didn't see any with bear or any other 'ears'. Ski stuff is the best I find for warmth and waterproof. Ski helmet covers for kids however do have a lot of 'ears'!
