To think that Kirstie Allsop circa 2001 was absolutely beautiful

I am watching really old episodes of Location Location Location. I watched them back in the day too and had no real opinion on her, but she really was quite stunning and stylish too. I have quite the girl crush

How about now?

Cappuccinowithonesugarplease · 09/09/2024 21:23

It's a shame she is such a snob!

sandrapinchedmysandwich · 09/09/2024 21:24

Yes she looks good now too but she was extra lovely then.

The pashminas didn't help her

Lovely complexion though

TerfTalking · 09/09/2024 21:25

Shame she isn’t as lovely inside.

Yes very true. I am only commenting on the aesthetics.

I stopped watching that series after Phil’s deeply unpleasant blood sports enthusiasms became public, and her hard right politics aren’t appealing either.

I won’t watch any programme he’s been involved in, his unapologetic hunting is sickening.

thank god there are plenty of other real estate programmes to indulge my house gawping weaknesses.

RedheadedSoulStealer · 09/09/2024 21:35

Yes she was, I agree.
And unpopular opinion, I have always loved her style.

LauderSyme · 09/09/2024 21:37

My brother had a huge crush on her back in the day. I am not quite sure which fruity words he chose to express this but I remember he clearly admired her.

He would probably agree with her opinions too. I on the other hand feel my lip curling when I hear her speak these days.

I always loved Phil up until this.

And it's easy to be very right wing when you have had a huge foot up from rich parents. But she was still very gorgeous back then. Naturally gorgeous too.

Were you a guest on Location Location Location?

Superworm24 · 09/09/2024 22:27

Is she a snob? I never got that impression when I watched her on location, location.

I agree she is beautiful OP. Her style has improved over the years and she dresses better now. But we were all wearing some hideous stuff in the early 2000s.

Moonshine5 · 09/09/2024 22:45

To think you need to visit Specsavers

Evergreen90 · 09/09/2024 22:48

why is Kirstie a snob? I think she’s fab

AngeloMysterioso · 09/09/2024 22:51

Was she the cloaked woman in the Scottish Widows advert back in the day or did I imagine that?

NancyJoan · 09/09/2024 22:52

I met her around then, and she was indeed gorgeous. Amazing skin. Also really fun and very smart.

No, but that’s a pity. A CV consisting of being the Scottish Widow and flirting Head-Girlishly with Phil Spencer over a series of ‘good-sized’ kitchens wearing loud prints would be pretty niche.

The Scottish Widow ads always crack me up. You always imagine them saying to the actors, story boarders, costume people etc, ‘Look, lads, we can’t lose the brand recognition and good will of the name, so we still need the cloaked lady, but WE DON’T WANT ANYONE THINKING OF DEATH, SO SEXY CLOAK, SEXY ACTRESS, LET’S GET HER LEGS OUT, AND STYLE HER TO LOOK LIKE THE MODEL BAND IN THE ‘ADDICTED TO LOVE’ VIDEO, OK?’

Cappuccinowithonesugarplease · 09/09/2024 23:01

She is a total snob!
Who remembers when she had the opinion it was 'disgusting' to keep washing machines in the kitchen? Like she couldnt get it around her little privileged head that maybe some people have no choice

That's such an offensive word. If you are going to condemn someone for something non-pc get the language right. Vile vile word

That was Amanda Lamb

Yes, it maybe that as Amanda Lamb also (albeit later on) presented a TV show about property sales ("Amanda Lamb Selling Houses") you are confusing the two women.

The main difference was, Phil & Kirsty seem to know what they're doing, whereas Amanda had a flair for attempting to rearrange the deckchairs on the Titanic, as it were.

As in, there was an episode where it was perfectly obvious what was wrong with the house and why there had been dozens of viewings & no offers. It needed so much doing to it just to keep it upright, let alone up-to-date, it was awful, so Amanda set-to sticking mirror tiles to worn-out wall cupboards, presumably thinking the owners would then be at sealed bids come teatime.
