AIBU in thinking my, not so D,p, would have more brains than to want to fight in an ILLEGAL fight club just because we are short of money?

He got a call from a friend this morning informing him that his gf had found out about this fight place that goes on not so far from us. You basically fight for money, lots of it. Dp gets off phone and says to me "that might be a bit more money coming in then" I ask why/how. He explains the above. I in a very shocked way ask if he is serious, I never had him down as this type before and think maybe he is just winding me up. No he is serious

He asked me why I was annoyed!

1. ITS ILLEGAL
2. I quite like his face the way it is
3. He may not value his life but I and the children do
4. I want this baby to know it's father when it's born
5. If it's illegal then anything goes and he could either end up dead or killing someone.
6. I'm outraged that he could even think about doing something like this.

My reply was that I'm sure if we are really that desperate for money then I could find someone who's willing to pay me for sex....

He didn't seem to think that was along the same lines.

No way, YANBU - these clubs are illegal for a good reason - your dp could get killed. Then how much use would he be.

Tell him to get a bloody loan off the bank like every one else when their skint.

That's the thing though, yes we are a bit short, but nothing major. He just wants everything paid now rather over the long term. Idiot.

Don't worry I have told him, in no uncertain terms, if he even mentions it again, let alone go through with it, we are finished. My ex dh was a psycho. I, nor my kids, need another.

He has a very full time and physical job already. He is away with work every couple of weeks and has loads of overtime. He is just stupid.

Report the venue to crimestoppers ( before he goes anywhere near it). You will stop him and stop untold pain for other wife/partners

That's the thing, this friend isn't like that either. His gf somehow heard about it through some of her friends, mentioned it to him and I'm pretty sure friend only mentioned it in passing to dp who then asked more questions and somehow convinced himself and friend it's a good idea! Sorry hope that makes sense?
