light hearted ....

we messed up with my leave this year, we went away in april earlier this year and have booked for march next year, not realising its within the 1 annual leave year for work. we are going away with friends in march so no chance of changing this.

we've had a pretty hectic year to be honest with health issues, weddings, babies etc and we decided to book a couple of nights away to unwind and relax.

we've booked a lakeside lodge with a hottub a few hours drive from home and the plan is to just relax, read, walk and eat decent food and we know the weather is going to be questionable but we don't care.

but DH is really beginning to annoy me, and yes i know its petty, but it just proves how exhausted i am, and he keeps talking about our up coming 'holiday".. it's not a bloody holiday its a couple of nights away in a self catered lodge!

AIBU - leave him too it you're exhausted and need the break
YANBU - you are right.. its not a holiday!

Imagine someone you know who couldn’t afford more than that, saying, “I’m looking forward to our holiday”. How much of an arsehole would you be to think, “hmmm - not a holiday”. Thats how much YABU.

i litterally started the post with LIGHT HEARTED! but wow! you have some unresolved issues there!

OP, you have had a hectic year, with health issues. I hope you are all well now.

It's interesting, semantics. English is not my first language, and it was here on Mumsnet I realised that for some people a holiday is only a holiday if it is abroad. That was news to me!

I hope you will have a really lovely time at the lodge!
It all sounds wonderful, with a lakeside lodge, hottub, and everything.

It's an escape from reality.
