The thing about the white/neutral decor to sell.
It's about whether you can live with the previous owner's decor choices until you have the time/money/energy to redecorate to your own taste. Now you might not be a fan of magnolia or Egyptian cotton paint, but it's inoffensive and live-able with until you can put your own stamp on the place, bit by bit, as you go. Buy somewhere which is decorated top to bottom in Disney, or in neon pink, or any other strong decor theme and you are ruling out a large percentage of your pool of buyers. People are going to think that actually, they can't live with so much Disney, and are mentally totting up the costs and time needed to put it right. And it's not just the walls is it? It's the ceilings, and the garden, and everything else! It's a huge amount of work to get rid of the Disney.
As is always the case, it's only worh what someone will pay for it, and this decor (and all the clutter) is knocking a substantial amount off the price. If you don't want to sell then fine, but most people put their house on the market because they do need to sell and move.
