Maybe this is stupid, but if anyone is interested, thank you.
I just been thinking about this because last weekend I met a friend of a friend for the first time and we talked about our backgrounds.
All of her grandparents are from different countries (and went even beyond those countries where the ancestory comes from) and she was saying how everyone made sure she speaks the languages, know about the history, culture, dances, cooking, so not only family history but also the countries history.
I thought it was incredible.
Both of my parents are from a nordic country and they really didn’t teach me much about it, or our family history.
(They are all around quiet / private people, if anyone wonders why that happened).
But anyway, I was just wondering how versed do you think one person can be, from far away.
I mean, going by this woman I’ve met - if family teaches them, there can be a lot.
