Patio building tips needed

In the spring I planted 2 blackcurrant bushes and 1 gooseberry. They established nicely and I went to weed around them and they had vanished. On closer inspection there were just stumps about an inch high. "D"H had the strimmer out at the weekend, while I was out, to tackle long grass by the hedge (a few metres from the bushes). Apparently he thought they were weed bushes. The dug bed, the plant labels and my loving attention to them over the summer insufficient to make him suspect otherwise.
So my question is - how deep do I need to bury the body to make sure the patio doesn't sink. He dies have previous for plant stupidity (the wisteria and apple tree took years to recover) so knows he is only to mow the lawn unless under strict supervision.

You-ll need to dig a deep hole as you'll need planning permission if the patio is over 30cm high. I'm not sure that bodies are a material planning consideration, regardless of the stupidity of the deceased.

They will probably regrow rapidly next year from the stumps. Especially if they have a plentiful supply of fresh organic matter near the roots. I wonder where that could come from???

Fresh organic matter sounds a good option. Better then trying to keep the patio level.
