I don’t understand why people on here say DS instead of son or DH instead of husband. Why?

It's not just a MN thing.

DS2 should mean second son and DS(2) should mean son who's 2 but people misuse them.

Don't use them if you don't want to but you can't dictate how other people use them.

This. It’s just an online cultures thing, just like ham radio had its own set of abbreviations and lingo. If it irritates you, don’t use it, or don’t hang about in bits of the internet where it’s used.

ExDH - if he’s an ex what’s so fucking dear/darling aboot him?

I read as Dickhead when they are an ex or not acting like dear/darling husband but on most relationship type posts even if husband is clearly an abusive arsehole there nearly always a statement to credit them being a wonderful dad.

@Goldengirl123 and you also find that the "dear" person is not so "dear" at all when you read the post so why say "D"???

I agree, it's annoying.
