I missed an audio call accidentally and then received this emoji. AIBU to assume they were not pleased about it? How would you interpret if you had been sent this?

My understand is that young people use that emoji when something is funny (originally used to show that something was so funny that the person died laughing).

I'm not young so I use a laughing face with tears for that purpose.

Are you prone to anxiety or over analysing meaningless shite OP?

Mamabearandcubs · 01/09/2024 20:00

I’d take it as they’re joking that they are annoyed you didn’t answer

Mostly the skull emoji denotes something that's really funny, like you've died laughing. Often with a dark/ironic undercurrent because something wasn't meant to be funny, or it's a bit inappropriate to find it funny.
