Why does this sentence give me the rage?

I just want to type - No you are the only person in the history of forever to ever have this experience’

What sentence gives you the rage?

Loving all the explanations ladies, I know what it means!!

It’s cringe worthy.

It's quite an odd thing to find cringe worthy.

And your OP did seem to indicate you don't understand the meaning.

"cash waiting" is a strange one.

You are asking to buy something. Why would you NOT have the money ready?

What gives me the rage, quite irrationally, is when posters write that they are buying a "doer upper: or saying "my house needs doing up", or we are currently "doing up" our house. There are perfectly adequate words in the English language for this specific thing; renovate, for example. "We are renovating our house", "we're buying a house that needs renovation", etc.

The other one that I find very irritating is when people say "I'm renting my house" when what they mean is "I'm letting my house". They literally mean the opposite so it gets very confusing.

I just remembered another one that gives me the rage: it's when people say I'm "upping" my exercise, or I'm "upping" the price. The word is "increase", why not use it?

Doer upper has been common parlance for years, ditty upping, do you just rage about random words 🤷‍♀️

More your lack of understanding than mine.

Well no, not really because you said:

"No you are the only person in the history of forever to ever have this experience"

Which indicates that you did think that people who say this are asking the question of everyone who has ever lived and not a select audience. So the explanations appear perfectly justified.

Amazed at this poster's naivety.

Of course you weren't looking for a literal response

🤣🤣🤣

Someone ringing me on my mobile phone and asking "Who's that?" when I answer the call.

MilkGate · 01/09/2024 19:38

"what is this called?" "is there a name for this?" ... then waits for MN to diagnose her MIL with NPD.

While the answer, the vast majority of the time, is “It’s ‘Person You Don’t Like’ Syndrome” .

Yes!!! I also hate people who say, "Only my child could(insert whatever child did here)." Yes you are completely right, only your child,in the entire world, could do that thing you posted on Facebook.Amazing.

Agree, especially when it’s a run of the mill thing, like ‘Only my Millie could knock over her juice during dinner’!
