He goes on Wednesday. He went on a “lads holiday” last year and pretty much ignored me while he was there. Also found some texts between his mates saying how many “fit women” there was there. Childish

@Rfthyhuj Fair point. I just find large groups of drunk men very off putting, and don’t like it when DP becomes one of them! I’d also rather he didn’t spend his time, money, and energy on binge drinking. I suppose I just find the whole thing unnecessary and distasteful!? That probably sounds judgmental and/or overbearing, but it’s how I feel (especially when I’m dealing with his hangover and stolen phone once he’s back)… that said, I’m not British and back home, stag dos and heavy drinking are not really a thing, so maybe I just don’t get it, I don’t know!

@Blipitydoo

It all comes down to communication and whether or not you trust your DP. And whether or not he has the balls and conviction to stand up to his friends.

Communication - that you express your feelings calmly and he commits to doing nothing that would violate your relationship. So if you feel that going to a strip club violates your relationship then he would to commit to not going to one, even if he felt going to one was 'no big deal'.

Trust - that you trust him to abide by his commitment.

Balls/conviction - that if the 'stags' decide to go to a strip club he will 'bow out' and return to the hotel.

I would trust my DH to do the above. He prizes our marriage above his 'reputation' with his friends. If they were to holler 'pussy whipped' or 'insult his manhood' he would simply tell them to fuck off. As would I in a reverse situation with 'hens' at a hen do.
