What cheese do you use on your lasagna top?

Boring question alert 🚨

Had a 10 year old admonish me for using cheddar cheese last night! Her mother only uses buffalo mozzarella and Parmesan don’t you know.

I’ve always just used whatever cheddar we have knocking around as I really don’t like the after taste of Parmesan and find mozzarella bland. I know it’s not authentic

i think my lasagna is gorgeous.

Mozzarella adds nothing to a lasagne.

If you're making a cheese sauce, you want taste. Parmesan or strong cheddar or both.

Texture. Gooiness.

Lots of cheddar and parmesan in the bechemal, cheddar on top. If I have mozzarella in I might add it in and on top too. But the top definitely needs plenty of bechemal and cheddar to give you that fantastic chewy cheesy topping.

Looking at some of the cheese light recipes I'm starting to understand why I find some lasagnes bland. Sorry if that's you!

Nope, not having it. Doesn't melt into the bechamel.

Cheddar all the way with a little bit of Parmesan mixed in as it gives better burnt bits.

More parmesan at the table.

And more Parmesan on the rocket salad.

Cheddar and red leicester mixed together..

I use Parmesan in my bechemel

Well I've never put bechamel in a lasagna, so I find that point irrelevant.
