to ask what your favourite snack is

I am a prolific and unrepentant snacker. I just chopped up some peanut butter and prunes, and am eating them with thick greek yoghurt with syrup on top.

I had some cashews earlier, and sometimes if I fancy something savoury but don't have bread in I will get a paratha out the freezer, fry it, slather it in butter, cheese, and marmite, and then roll it up and eat it. I will definitely have another snack later, even though I am going out for dinner at a friend's...

So AIBU to ask what snacks you like eating ?

Tinned rice pudding with a huge dollop of strawberry jam 😋

Growlybear83 · 24/08/2024 20:50

I've always loved Marmite crisps but a couple of weeks ago, I discovered the new cheese and Marmite puffs and they are my new favourite snack. Apart from that, I'm addicted to curly wurlies, and I love a slice of cherry Madeira cake with my mid afternoon coffee.

These snacks all sound quite posh!

Oatcakes with Brie
Crisps or pop chips
Mixed nuts honey roasted

This thread inspired me to make my favourite snack...
Ritz crackers with pieces of chopped up smoked streaky bacon on the top (raw). Drizzle maple syrup on the top of them, couple of chilli flakes and bung them in the air fryer for about 8 mins.
You're welcome 😁

There was a point about line in here where I started to worry.

PadstowGirl · 24/08/2024 22:05

Halva.

Cake is my biggest weakness but if you want something a bit more imaginative, then bread with hummus and chopped spring onion tops on top.

Dita73 · 24/08/2024 22:33

Years ago when I was a lot bigger I would get wraps, put a load of pasta salad in them (the one they sell in supermarkets with pesto and pine nuts) and top it with loads of mayo, roll them up and inhale them. I could eat at least 4. Haven’t had them for years but not a day goes by where I don’t think of them 😢

CharSiu · 24/08/2024 22:44

I love the paratha you get with spinach in, and one with spicy potato. But I never know how to cook them from frozen? I always try the oven but I guess that's wrong..

I guess crisps and things like bresaola, lomo, prociuto, salami, smoked salmon on decent bread. But then it turns more into a meal once the bread gets involved!

I also love hummus, tarama, babaganoush, tzatziki, all those lovely Turkish/greek/ middle eastern dips.
With carrot sticks, but then pitta, olives..and it becomes a meal again! Haha.

So I'm a bad snacker basically!

This is the pathra I have.
The best way to cook them is from frozen in a smoking hot skillet or frying pan .

i have never seen them with potato or spinach in before.

Shana make some stuffed ones but you make them the same way you said

BobbyBiscuits · 25/08/2024 13:08

@ScottBakula thank you! The stuffed ones I get from a couple of different corner type shops. One is quite a big one with loads of non UK groceries. But I've just seen you can get Shana brand stuffed ones from Ocado. Soz, link wouldn't paste!

Just remembered my recent discovery of dark chocolate-covered ginger biscuits 😋 so adding those to my list!!

Border biscuits do an excellent dark chocolate ginger biscuit.

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 25/08/2024 14:17

Well, mine’s pretty boring compared to lots on here, but cheese and grapes. Hardly any preparation needed either.

redalex261 · 25/08/2024 14:19

A nice little plate with some assorted cheeses (brie, cheddar, blue cheese of any description) just cut in little cubes. Accompanied by pickles or olives and some sort of fruit (apple, grapes, cherries, even tinned peaches) - delicious.

BTW I am currently a fat git….

ladygindiva · 25/08/2024 14:21

Teeny cheddar slices eaten with mini cheddars.

TranquilWater · 25/08/2024 18:37

Agree re: Ramona’s humous, it’s really nice. They also do bags of frozen falafel that taste good.

BobbyBiscuits · 25/08/2024 23:40

@OneTC soz, X posted with you about Shana paratha. They're pretty good actually. There's one with peas in it...not sure if that's Shana tho.

I read the post title and thought, I can contribute to that, favourite snack, going to write a Twix. Now I have read the thread and I have no place here...

Shall we set up our own snack group!
I'm not exaggerating to say there's a lot of stuff on here that I have NO understanding of what it is!?🫤

LucasNorth1 · 26/08/2024 01:49

cheese on toast / crumpets
