To be irrationally irritated by teeny tiny microphones?

I’ve seen loads of Tik-tok-type videos and reels online where the presenter is holding and talking into a teeny timy microphone - the type that I always thought was for clipping to your clothes like a TV presenter, not holding. I have no idea why this winds me up so much. Anyone else noticed this? Don’t they just look a bit daft?

Yes they look ridiculous! I hate them but have no idea why 😂

We have these for making videos at work but use the clips! They look totally ridiculous otherwise!!

Sorry this is late but oh god it winds me up something chronic. The worst part of it all is when you start seeing ‘creators’ who never used to do it jump on the bandwagon because some numpty decided it was ‘trendy’. I despair haha

It’s the lobster pincer hand gestures and long nail tapping on a product they’re waving about.

I agree, they’re clip mics and should be attached to their clothes, the whole point is they’re hands free, so irritating and unnecessary.

I hate them too, especially when held by revoltingly long nails just peeking out of an over long sleeve. So contrived!

This is such a niche irritation that I have never even verbalised to anyone. I am also irrationally annoyed by Tik Tok reels where they are holding these out and scroll past them immediately as punishment 🤣🤣
