To not actually believe this story? Nursery incident

My cousins 3 year old DD has suffered a broken leg a few days ago. Apparently this happened whilst at nursery. Nursery report that she ran really fast into a table. Aibu to not believe this at all? I can’t imagine running and banging her leg into a table would result in a fracture? They have chosen to the believe the nursery’s version of events but to me it doesn’t seem likely

It could be true.

My Dad shattered his ankle, needing pins,
plates and three months in a cast, walking down ONE step coming out the off-licence (sober). He landed really heavily on a flat foot and it just went.

I dislocated my big toe walking into a table.

It's all about angles and bone strength. Must be a nightmare owning/working in a nursery as accidents genuinely do happen.

Broke my arm in two places aged nearly 4 running along a landing a tripped. Didn't hit anything other than a carpetted floor...sometimes it's not about the fall it's about not sticking the landing!

Got a mate who tripped running two weeks ago, just a trip. He's waiting on surgery as we speak. He really didn't stick the landing

My 4 year old has just fractured his elbow coming down a very small bouncy castle slide! Didn’t even look like a bad or hard landing but broke his arm!

Which leg bone are you talking about? The tibia and fibula are lower leg bones and the femur the thigh bone. What type of fracture was it?

Both tibia and fibula

A friend broke her ankle while standing up from a chair as it twisted the wrong way so yes I can believe this. However if you have doubts you can ask for witnesses, possible cctv. Accidents do happen, a lot, with kids, always worth questioning of course. Xx

In the realms of possibility - I tripped and whacked my shoulder against our wall unit which resulted in a fracture - the local hospital CF disagreed and said I’d sprained it and gave me exercises to do - never known such pain😡
Hope little one is ok.

Yes, for these particular nurseries. Not unusual in this part of London.

@riceuten Oh wow! I honestly had no idea this would even be allowed. I have to give so many different consent forms to allow for my son’s nursery just to send pics of him via an app etc!
I don’t think I’d be comfortable with webcams at all!

Nor are the staff, to be honest
