To be anxious about the logistics of Taylor Swift at Wembley

Teen DC and I have tickets.

We are very lucky to have 'VIP' front standing.

We need to go in between 2.30pm and 3.30pm to maintain VIP early access (Karma package).

We of course are incredibly excited BUT i have to admit I'm so anxious too. Should I be?

We don't do gigs, DC's first one and I haven't been to one since I saw Blur in the 90s Grin.

Would anyone be able to help with some of the questions I have please? Especially if you have done the standing VIP tickets.

  • Given we need to be in by mid-afternoon, are there food stalls after security? It'll be a long day with no food otherwise.
  • how packed is it when you stand?
  • what happens if you need to go for a wee mid concert? DC will be ok without me whilst I go, but will people let me back in?
  • roughly what time does she finish? When might we expect to be out the stadium?
  • any other handy hints?!

Thank you!! From a (feeling) oldie...

I went in June.

Loads of food and drink in the stadium past security and they hand out tap water next to the stage for the people at the front.
It is packed when you stand but I loved it and it was great fun, if it’s “too much” close to the front, there’s plenty of room at the back and lots of people had deliberately stayed at the back to have more room to dance.
It was fine going to the loo- I went once during support acts and once during Taylor and people let me back in- if you are on your own they seem to be quite helpful at letting you back in to find your friends.
You are likely to have to signal or wifi once there so arrange a meeting point in case you get lost.

Just enjoy it- have the time of your life- I’m going Saturday again and CANNOT WAIT!

Sorry forgot to say she finished 10.45 when we went but it is busy getting out of the stadium- again- don’t stress it- enjoy the atmosphere- everyone was singing songs on thr massive queue to the tube and it was almost like another concert again!

Times vary for Wembley due to curfews on different days of the week, if you Google the info should be somewhere :)

Yes there are food stalls inside, toilets weren't as much of an issue as I thought, you might lose your place but to be honest if you don't want to feel super crowded might want to not be right at the front anyway! All of the standing spots are good- if others from your group stay where they are people will likely help you get back to them.

We left just as Karma started, no regrets as beat the crowds and it was only one song, but it'll be fine if you wait til the end (I just hate super busy places and this helped a bit). We were heading back on the tube though.

This is amazing intel, thank you. I'll just be less anxious having a vague idea of what's going to happen on the day (but am also pretty flexible and don't tend to sweat stuff once I'm there and doing it, if that makes sense).

What do we do from 3.30pm once we're in? What time can you start going into the actual arena (with a VIP standing ticket)?

We're driving (have pre-booked parking 10 mins walk from the Stadium).

So excited!

You won’t go in at 3.30- maybe 4-5 ( can’t remember exact timings). We were floor last time but not VIP and got there at stupid o clock to get there in the queue.
Once we got in, we sat on the floor for a bit- chatted to the people around us- swapped bracelets- then there were 2 support acts then TAYLOR! You could get food if you wanted (we didn’t as too excited 😜 )
The time flew by and everybody was just so excited to be there and friendly - it really was such a lovely experience.

We ate at Wagamama in the shopping centre opposite the stadium before we went into a concert last time, I always find the food very unappealing inside (being vegetarian). Toilets are very plentiful and there were water fountains when we saw Coldplay.

Eat a substantial lunch before you arrive, drink in the queue before going in. There was free water inside. Food inside is expensive but plentiful.

We had standard tickets and were in within 10 minutes of gates opening for our section, and we only were queuing for 20 minutes before the gates opened

We had front standing at a different stadium. There’ll be plenty of food and drink options.

people tend to sit on the ground for a while, and there was a bit of movement around half an hour before the first support act, so everyone got up and moved forward. Try and have your food, drink and a loo visit out of the way before that point! You’ll find each other easily enough when people are sat down if one of you goes off to get something, but take something distinguishable that you can hold up if one of you needs to go to the loo to make easier to find each other once you’re standing. Don't rely on phone signal, it can be very ropey.

Between the main stage and the diamond, close to the diamond has great views.

Take a fully charged battery pack for your phones (likely to take lots of photos and videos) and agree a meeting point both inside and outside of the stadium.

It is pretty packed when you stand, but it is manageable.

Be prepared for whatever the weather forecast is, wear shoes you can stand in all night!

I took a teen DC. It’s been years since I did standing at a stadium gig, but it was brilliant, I’d love to go again this weekend! You’ll have an amazing time, enjoy!

If the gates open at 4.15 how much earlier do you think we should be there? DD is not good with crowds so I want to ve as close as possible to sailing straight in - is this doable? Thank you all !

Nervynervous · 16/08/2024 12:30

Hi op. I have exactly the same anxieties as you for when we go and have the same tickets. I feel really old and worried but thank you for posting what I was about to post. It’s reassuring to read some of these replies. Hope you enjoy. I feel a bit more excited than I did, having read this.

ADHDGURL · 16/08/2024 22:58
