Amazon

To think amazon is a load of crap? The items I have ordered over the past year have either been faulty or used, and the quality is comparable to Temu. I am planning on cancelling my subscription. Am I being unreasonable here?

You don't subscribe to Amazon.

You don't subscribe to Amazon.

Presumably she meant Amazon prime.

Which can be useful if you want things delivered the next day or there's something specific you want to see on the streaming service (such an odd mix of product).

There's crap on amazon, we'd never buy unbranded electronic goods for instance but there's good stuff too.

Esme32 · 15/08/2024 16:55

I meant amazon prime!

I agree! I recently purchased toy for my toddler and it got recalled due to a fire risk, I could go on!

Ah well - that's different!

(And yes, I know you subscribe to Amazon Prime, as I'm a subscriber)

If you're unhappy with the quality I think that's more to do with the supplier - if you read the product description you can often tell where something is being sent from. The poor English can be a giveaway as well.

I don't think it's a fault of AP per se - more the companies you're choosing to buy from.

I always filter by reviews. That way you have some idea of what to expect for your money.

Skippingropes · 15/08/2024 17:00

It depends what you buy really, if you buy a recognised brand it's fine I expect, there's a lot of unknown brands that are invariably poor quality and no doubt cheaper elsewhere.

sunsetsandboardwalks · 15/08/2024 17:02

I've used Amazon pretty much weekly for years and have never had any issues.

It must depend on what you're buying.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 15/08/2024 17:03

I haven't found this, and I buy things from Amazon all the time. Amazon don't make the stuff! If you're choosing very cheap, unbranded things, then you are likely to get what you pay for.

AgnesX · 15/08/2024 17:05

I have some of their Basics range eg a laptop bag, laptop stand, mouse, and randomly, a long sleeved t shirt. All items are as good, if not better than anywhere else.

You have to be careful as some items have arrived looking as if someone has played football with the contents but generally I've no complaints.

KrisAkabusi · 15/08/2024 17:28

If you're buying used, temu-quality crap, you're not buying from Amazon, you're buying from crap sellers that happen to use Amazon as their sales platform. Don't buy from Amazon marketplace, buy those that are sold by Amaxon themselves.

ComeOnThenFanny · 15/08/2024 17:58

And also the "Amazon Choice" item is usually fab

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 15/08/2024 18:44

Seems like it’s a problem with what you're choosing to buy vs Amazon as a whole.

Jc2001 · 15/08/2024 19:54

I must order thousands of pounds worth of stuff from Amazon every year (also a prime subscriber) and 99.9% of the time it's amazing.

If I don't like something I return it for free. On the very few occasions there's been an issue with delivery it's been Evri that's fucked it up, but Amazon just cover it and refund me.
