Hello all.
I'm looking for anyone who has been in or knows someone in a similar situation and had a positive outcome. I have a small nodular bump on my arm that is pink in colour but sometimes red due to it being irritated. It has been there for almost 4 years. It's scabbed once in that time and probably itched on a couple of occasions. It has also not grown in 4 years. I've had pictures taken with a dermascope, and the pictures were reviewed by a dermatologist who then wrote to me to tell me that the pictures dont lead to a specific diagnosis, but after 3 months and a prescription of steroid cream, they would like to see me again. Is this a good sign that it's nothing sinister? Can a dermascope fail to show up cancerous lesions? I am so, so worried :(

If they suspected it was cancerous they would tell you.

It just means that there are no signs of cancer but they’d like to keep an eye on it, just in case that ever changes.

This is a good thing and you don’t need to worry.

Thanks for the reassurance. It is much appreciated
