To not clean the wee up?

I work in a medium sized supermarket (4 tills) and we have no customer toilets - staff ones which are cleaned by cleaners not shop staff.

Today a child wet themselves in one of the aisles. My manager told me to clean it up with paper towels and I refused. It’s not part of my job description and I’m not cleaning up human waste - even if it’s a child’s.

To be honest the parents walking away and not offering to help was lazy and gross in itself but regardless aibu?

I'm a cleaner in a supermarket and I'm not required to clean up spillages on the shop floor. The staff think I am but I'm not. If a box of red wine gets smashed and the machine is needed then it's my job but that's it.

I'm a cleaner in Sainsburys and believe it or not no it's not my job and is indeed the shop assistants job

So the cleaner says its not their job and the shop assistant says its not their job!!

Ha this thread reminds me of the horrible Post Office where I used to live. Someone did an actual shit on floor in the queue. The staff cordoned it off with cones and told people to queue around it. I decided what I needed to do wasn't that urgent after all.

One of many reaons I don't go to Post Offices unless I absolutely have to.

That’s one way to make a deposit at the post office I suppose.
