Vinted buyer

I sold a pair of heels on Vinted that had never been worn for a couple of pounds. I shipped them really quickly as the buyer was messaging me asking me to send straight away as she needed them, which I did do even though I didn't really have time that day!

She received them today and is complaining that they are too small and don't fit.

Do I just refund her or AIBU to think it's not my problem?

Not your problem if they are the size you listed them as, in my opinion anyway

pinklite · 12/08/2024 23:05

@Karmaisac4t Exactly, but I think she is hinting at a refund because I didn't state in the listing that they were small fitting. To be honest I thought it might just be me, as I do have wide feet compared to others

She’s totally ridiculous if the size you advertised is the size of the shoes. I’ve had some delivered before now, too small, which is the risk you take with an unknown new brand. I just sell on. It’s just tough. Vinted’s policy is if the item significantly differs from the advert or the photos don’t match, then the buyer may (possibly, after jumping through multiple hoops) get a refund. If they match the description, you don’t have to refund. Vinted will request photos anyway and then they decide if you’re reluctant to refund.

I’d tell her to take a running jump, quoting the Vinted policy above.

Nicknacky · 12/08/2024 23:06

I wouldn’t comment in a listing about if a shoe was small fitting etc. I would just state the facts like you did

Again, that’s a risk you take, hence I always ask for the fitting and inside leg and rise of trousers/jeans. I find descriptions on Vinted tend to be extremely brief. Tough on her, sorry. It’s a couple of quid, if it were me as buyer, I’d donate to charity or sell on.

ABirdsEyeView · 12/08/2024 23:11

She is responsible for sending them back (inc the postage cost) if you decide to refund. Not that you should, but definitely not before they are returned. For a couple of quid she'll probably decide not to.

Thelnebriati · 12/08/2024 23:12

I always put a note in my listings that I don't accept returns for fit, because otherwise people treat you like a shop.

loropianalover · 12/08/2024 23:14

I’d tell her that her feet must be fatter than she thought, that she can use the pics from your listing to re-list them, and then stop responding.

Pineapplewaves · 12/08/2024 23:44

Vinted rules state that you cannot return something for a refund if it doesn't fit. If they don't like it the item they can sell it on Vinted.

Alternatively tell her you'll accept a return but she pays postage - you'll never hear from her again as the cost of the return postage will be the same or more than she paid in the first place.

I always state if something comes up small or big and it really annoys me when I buy something which is way off the standard sizing and it wasn't mentioned.

But that's the risk you take on Vinted and there is no obligation on you to refund.

yes that happened to me when I bought a Lulu M T shirt - NWT for my sister - she is a 12 I am more a 14 and this T-shirt was still too large for me. Had to sell on …when I relisted, I described it as ‘over-sized’ and ‘loose-fitting’ and added the measurements

trader21c · 13/08/2024 20:07

Sorry duplicate

tanstaafl · 13/08/2024 20:33

Call me cynical but my mind went straight to she’s worn them for whatever occasion she bought them for and now wants her money back.

MervynTheMouse · 13/08/2024 21:16

Tell her to 'feel free to use my photos and relist'
Then let her crack on.
