I’ve had the most horrendous tooth ache so I put some orajel. I’ve used 3 times within the day. It says max 4 but I think I’ve put too much each time. I did spit it any excess and washed my hands. I’m worried as I read if you use to much it can be fatal. Since reading that I feel like my legs feel funny and body feel my heart rate feels higher. I’m worried that I’ve over dosed. Not sure if it’s anxiety related though

You're panicking and that's causing the feelings you're having.
I once practically used a whole tube in one day due to an awful abscess and still kicking around on MN. :)

take a deep breath and some paracetamol for the pain too and concentrate on how to get in the dentist when it opens.

Google reveals only two cases of the associated blood issue with orajel have ever been recorded.

if you've used less that the daily dose and have spit it out afterwards then I would fully expect your reaction to be anxiety about it.

iloveallthis · 12/08/2024 03:56

How much of the tube is left?

Rosyy · 12/08/2024 03:59

About a quarter or so but it was already used a few weeks back. I used probably just a bit more than pea sized each time I just came to the bathroom and vomited and feel a bit better but still feel on edge

Stop panicking. You’ll be absolutely fine. It’s oragel, not fentanyl!

WiddlinDiddlin · 12/08/2024 04:36

It is more likely that the stress of being in pain, and possibly your body trying to fight off an infect, is making you feel awful.

See a dentist, asap. Don't try to ride it out, dental infections are nasty.

If you are in England, I called 111 when I had toothache and there was an option for emergency dental treatment.

I also overused the Orajel due to pain, but was fine.
I found Ibuprofen worked better than paracetamol - but check the leaflet.
i found eating a freeze pop helped numb the pain.

Thanks everyone. I’m feeling a bit better now. I’ve got some minor health issues, plus the tooth ache, plus an infected ingrown toe nail that’s been really painful the last few days so not feeling the best at the minute. I’m pretty sure I have an impacted wisdom tooth which is causing the pain, I can feel the wisdom tooth but it doesn’t feel as though it’s completely come in/feels like it’s at an angle. The whole right side of my mouth has been in agony 🙁
