Need to do something about this

I’m DRAB. Pale, dumpy, unflattering clothes, skin bad, not the best diet. I need to make changes but how?? I have bad habits. Any tips how to stick to things and make permanent changes? I feel so depressed after going out with my friend earlier, she had a lovely dress on and looked tanned.

hello I am also drab and overwhelmed, surrounded by skinny, well-groomed people. I cannot help you but you are not alone. I am following with interest.

You could try listening to the Michael Mosley podcast 'Just one thing'.

Disclaimer, I haven't actually listened to it but it's supposed to be great.

Start small, revise your skin care routine and make yourself follow it religiously day and night, drink more water, you will soon see a brightening which might spur you to start looking at your diet. Eat fruit, cut back on any unhealthy choices, start walking daily or take up some other sort of exercise, cut back on alcohol if you drink. It doesn't take long to see a boost in energy levels which in turn will help the motivation to make more life changes. Good luck.

Tips - when you are tempted to eat crap go and do something instead, brush your teeth, put on a face mask, change the bedsheets, sort out your wardrobe or go for a walk, the urge will pass.

throw out or charity bag any clothes that make you feel dumpy and are unflattering, plan what you would like to wear when you lose weight maybe find photos of the sort of look you would like and stick on the fridge, find old photos of yourself where you like how you look and add them too.

Small changes; small steps. Decide which you want to change the most and start with that one first. Once you are in a routine with that, move to another.
