to not want to hear this conversation whilst sitting out on my patio? (animal cruely triggering)

I live in a terraced house so obviously can hear everything that's being said in neighbouring gardens and a bit beyond.

My neighbours have gone on holiday and obviously sublet the house either to friends or an AirBnB type thing. The people subletting (from the sound of it) are two young couples, very posh - talking about the difficulties of getting a job in the City. Also shouting at Alexa (in the kitchen) from the garden.

They are eating dinner outside. There is one very loud young hooray, everything he's saying is with a mouth full of food. He's just been talking about websites he's been on where dogs are boiled alive for food and he's seen a whole deep-fried chihauaua, and says he'd love to try it, because obviously it's no different to eating pork. And it's racist to say otherwise.

AIBU to say he's a cunt of the highest order and I don't know why the 3 people eating with him aren't telling him to shut the fuck up. And how can he even have a partner, or friends?

And thanks for getting those images into my head you stupid, fucking, random stranger.

Pigs are more intelligent in some ways then dogs- is it any different to you talking about a sausage sandwich?
Lobsters and shellfish are often boiled alive.
Fish are left to suffocate in buckets.
It's all a bit gruesome really but it's part of eating meat. I'd get it if you were a high and mighty vegan but if you eat meat then you're no different.

I would be very upset if I overheard that conversation .

However I do kind of get the point as to whether one animal should be treated differently to another . The answer obviously being that all animals should be treated well and not killed and eaten .

I am a hypocrite though as even though I don't eat meat, I do eat fish . I wouldn't eat lobster but I didn't realise that crabs had the same treatment .

it was a conversation that you were not part of... it was not even on your property.

I have heard some pretty shite stuff being discussed in cafes etc, but my reaction to them is my responsibility. It is not on other people to censor themselves in case they upset someone who should be getting on with their own business anyway, and not earwigging.
