Help!

Living next door to shouty neighbours. Male, quiet by nature, car salesman, tight as arseholes, overcharged me on replacement fence panels recently; I let it go in case he simply couldn't add up and didn't want to make a fuss over £50. When he shouts back it all goes silent. The female is very shouty at the two kids under four and screams like a harridan at the male who WFH. 16-year-old DD, who lives with her dad, is as quiet as a mouse.

It's the female, really. She shouts at him and at the kids as her default mode of communication and yells for her DSD to help. I tend to ignore it, I'm in and out of the house, but my own DD was WFmyH for a week while I was away and said it was daily.

Need a WiFi name to subtly, or not tell them to shut up, help me pls, these are the best I can do, but I know MNers have brilliant usernames and can do wayyyy better

Would they see it though? Personally my devices all connect automatically to our WiFi so I couldn't tell you the last time I actually opened the page that shows all the available networks when I'm at home

Does anyone bother looking at the networks? And if they do, why would they think it's them?

I can't remember the last time I looked at the networks round my house, because I'm signed in and stay signing in. Even the last time I got a new mobile, my sim remembered the passwords and I got straight in.

Because we live in the middle of nowhere, only four WiFi are broadcast, and one of them is my printer!

But another poster had a point: we auto-connect at home.

too much work, the boiler, the washing machine, the TV, numerous devices and phones. Love the idea tho

I haven’t a clue what other networks there are around me. My stuff just connects to our network, I don’t look at anybody else’s.

Edit: Just checked. The only other network I can see is our printer.

I've done this before - StopSmokingUnderMyWindow or something like that. They commented on it a few weeks later but they did stop 😂

Perhaps "StopArguing" or "StopShouting". Or "NoisyPricksNextDoor", "TheShoutyHouse".

YANBU purely for coming up with a novel way to express your annoyance without actually shouting STFU at your neighbours; often referred to on MN as being PA (passive aggresive) but needs must.

My suggestion:

STFU#(insert house number or name)

Maybe bring it up. Start each daily quote with 'QOTD: ' and then after at least one change, when you speak to one of them and say 'do you know what 'QOTD' stands for? There's a really random WiFi name. It's QOTD: quote from previous day'. Then go on your phone to show them and be like 'oh, hold on. It's changed to 'QOTD: todays quote'. That's so random!'

Could you not change the printer one rather than the main one?
