As much as I despite Huw Edwards, the BBC are being ridiculous here.
They knew he was arrested and charged for child sex offences and decided to still pay him. That's on them.

x2boys · 09/08/2024 12:14

If he was suspended he was entitled to his salary, I'm not condoning what he did, but suspension is supposed to be neutral to protect the Employer and Employee whilst there is an investigation
I guess the BBC can ask for it back .

Hoppinggreen · 09/08/2024 12:14

I agree
He is disgusting and I hope he is punished BUT If he did what he was paid to do I can't see how The BBC can try and get it back

FOJN · 09/08/2024 12:15

Well his crimes are appalling but I don't think they could have sacked him until he was convicted so I'm not sure how they think they can get his salary back.

It'll be difficult to do. Unless he does it willingly (why would he?) I can't see them winning at an employment tribunal.
