To think this is a lot of illness over the last 2 months?

Over the last 6 weeks I have had the flu for a week, followed by a week of sickness and nausea, then one healthy week (!), followed by COVID which wiped me out for 2 weeks, and now I have gastritis.

It seems like a lot, I'm otherwise healthy - does it just sound like a string of bad luck or could my immune system be really weak?

Sounds like your immune system is zilch.aftef this battering of continual illness.

Might be worth having some probiotic (not yogurty drinks full of sugar) or tonic to help boost you back up.

Yes that’s a lot, sound like your body isn’t recovering from bug to bug.

I had the same 3 years ago - for about 6 months. At the suggestion of someone on here I asked for vitamin d blood test, and turns out I’m very deficient and need to be on a high dose for life.

With the lack of sunlight in the last 18 months it’s worth considering. Most of the U.K. population should be taking vitamin D supplements through the dull sunless months.

It obviously is but your immune system has took a battering then exposed to more viruses .

i would definitely avoid crowded places , rest as much as you can for a while

I feel your pain. From Feb to June, I had an assortment of lurgies, including covid twice, which all knocked me off my feet. Hope you are feeling better soon.

This has happened to a few of my colleagues too, it's rubbish! Hope you are at the end of it now.

Poster upthread makes a very good point about vitamin D - the weather has been terrible. No need to get a blood test tho just get a good supplement, everyone is recommended to take vit d anyway.

I feel for you, I've been in the same situation. Started with a stomach bug in May which was so bad I ended up in hospital for a night, then a week later I got strep throat which needed 3 rounds of antibiotics and lasted over a month and now this week I've had Covid! Seems to be non stop!

@ilyag I know this post is quite old, but I also have suspected gastritis after flu/Covid.

Just wondering how you are feeling now? Has your gastritis gone, did you need and treatment for it.

Feeling really fed up and just after a bit of advice

Thank 🙂
