I have asked before... I am now asking again... mumsnetters, what are you having for lunch?

I had white rice with curried lentils, spicy cabbage, and chutney. I wish I had some sweet treats in but I don't so will probably eat a spoon of jam.

A wrap filled with a chicken breast, chopped tomatoes, caesar dressing and a bag of sunchips crunched up inside. And a chocolate protein pudding thing.

Was it the Lidl one? Chocolate pudding, I mean.

Lj8893 · 06/08/2024 16:14

A hard boiled egg, cucumber and carrot sticks and a babybel light.

Leftover spicy chicken stew with black beans and sweetcorn and some brown rice. I forgot the little tub of cheese that was supposed to go with it though.

This sounds good - do you have a recipe to share please?

funnyoldonion · 06/08/2024 16:16

Last day on holiday in Turkey - I had a beef brisket burger, Parmesan fries and a beer at the beach shack!

SprinkleOfSunak · 06/08/2024 16:26

My children ate cold Japanese Summer noodles.
My Husband ate a banana, and then left for the gym.
I ate about 12 heaped teaspoons of Nutella in the kitchen in between reorganising cupboards and realising that no amount of storage solutions seem to be helping in my tiny kitchen!

Cheese and onion toasted sandwich with some apple slices. And a glass of water.

This made me chuckle as the MN thread that lives rent free in my mind is the thread a few weeks ago where posters were judging people who drank 'too much' water. You had a whole glass of water?? Nobody could possibly need a whole glass at lunch you filthy Gen X-er Grin

I also had a glass of water, with a nectarine and chicken salad with courgettes and crispy onions.

Red onion fried with 3 or 4 diced skinless chicken thighs. Add a couple of crushed garlic cloves and a teaspoon or so of ground coriander and of smoked paprika with a knob of butter. Then stir in a heaped tablespoon of flour followed by a good dollop of tomato puree and a stock cube and water (around 250 - 300 ml, probably). Add tinned sweetcorn and beans (I usually use black beans or red kidney beans, but another sort world be fine. Simmer until thickened and serve with rice. Or on a jacket potato.

readingismycardio · 06/08/2024 16:41

we had honey roasted peppers and feta pasta. Yummy!

You may want to adjust the spice level to your own taste. I just sort of shake it in because I know roughly how much it should look like in the pan.

Hope you enjoy if you try it. 😊

No a Sainsbury's one, Arla brand I think it was. Pretty tasty. I like the Morrisons ones too! Is the Lidl one good?

I quite like it, but my standards for chocolate pudding are pretty low Grin

Black olive ciabatta toasted, with feta crumbled on top. Cherry tomatoes.

BeachBae · 07/08/2024 08:44

I took sweet potato and red pepper soup out of the freezer to have for lunch today.

Fullyflavoured · 07/08/2024 11:57

2 Greggs sausage rolls and a yum yum.

GinAndBeerIt · 07/08/2024 12:00

Last night's left over bang bang chicken and noodles. Delicious.

Isthiscorrect · 07/08/2024 12:01

Ah today we are having cheese garlic and caramelised onion muffins fresh from the oven with salad stuff for me and nothing else for him. Plus a glass of water again.

RuthW · 07/08/2024 12:17

Crackers with laughing cow, ham and cucumber

doyoulikemyyams · 07/08/2024 12:25

Slice of rye bread topped with cottage cheese, blistered cherry tomatoes, basil leaves and some balsamic vinegar.

Then a honey and apricot Skyr.

It's not even nearly lunchtime here yet, but I've been thinking about lunch all morning!

turkeymuffin · 07/08/2024 12:27
