Me too OP! I've often wondered why people feel this need to control others. My DH says if there were no men in the world there would be perfect peace, and has often said how ashamed he is to be a man, as all the world's troubles are caused by the male sex.

I think op was talking about a hypothetical future… uk needs immigrants , not only labour. Ie 20% nhs are immigrants.

I work with asylum seekers and refugees. In the last month, I've helped a midwife with her registration and a highly experienced doctor trying to further her education to male her eligible to work in the UK. These are our future citizens. These are the people who will save our NHS.

In all honesty, i don't know whether these people are just plain racist, or whether they are racist and they genuinely don't understand the complexity of issues facing our society.

That 10+years of austerity & finiancial have decimated public services. Nothing to do with immigration.

The birth rate is dropping (understandably!). We will need more migration in the future to survive as a country

Globalisation and technology means the world has changed forever and likely will change beyond recognition with AI. We are now competing in a global market for remote working jobs & many jobs will be obsolete

Immigrants (outside of the Commonwealth, and even those need the right to remain) cannot vote in national elections. I would know, I became a citizen mainly to get that right.
