To be totally hacked off with the pensions system

Just found out they have suspended my nan's state pension for the last 3 weeks! FFS!!!

All because they overpaid her Pension Credit.

It takes me an HOUR to get to speak to the right person- we'll call you back.

I wait....and wait....8 hours later I call them again.

"A call back takes 2 days" 2 bloody days!!

Demand to discuss it with man I am now talking too. "Yes the pension has been suspended, we'll have to call you back on this one- in 2 days!!".

Bit annoyed by now- so how is my nan going to live on #50.00 a week. This is all she's been getting for the last 3 weeks and has had to buy new glasses. Her husband died at Christmas- she had a heart attack the same bloody day, her alcoholic son then turns up and spends all her pension money on Scotch and now youve stopped the only income she has coming in?

Their answer- GET A LOAN!!
SHAME ON THIS COUNTRY!!!

That is fucking diabolical treatment.

You could betcha life that if they had overpaid HER they would not be so quick to put it right.

I work for the Pension Service (am on mat leave at the moment) and the whole system is in a right state. The best advice I can give is to keep calling them, the more you call and demand to speak to a supervisor, the more chance there is of something being done.

You can also make a formal complaint - ask the person you speak to to register a complaint on your nan's behalf, then someone senior has to get back to you ASAP.

If I had a penny for every time I come across this sort of thing at work, I would be a bloody millionaire and not a civil servant
