Imeni Khelif has undergone all necessary tests for Olympics. Why are you wanting a woman - who has assigned woman at birth - to humiliate and degrade herself further (probably to men)?? That’s repulsive.

Keep up. The IOC have done NO testing.

Two independent labs ratified by WADA and the CAS have found make karotypes and male levels of testosterone. Case closed.

It's repulsive that you want females to be out at fatal risk to save male feelings. What's wrong with you?

Helleofabore · 05/08/2024 14:52

GoadyMcBigot · 05/08/2024 14:47

no, The banned organisation IBA arranged the tests. And they did so on a very specific and politically motivated basis.

Imeni Khelif has undergone all necessary tests for Olympics. Why are you wanting a woman - who has assigned woman at birth - to humiliate and degrade herself further (probably to men)?? That’s repulsive.

So you feel free to carry on bullying this women. I will save my energy to fight against the type of males I listed earlier who are the ones doing the real damage to women.

We are arguing that the IOC has been negligent in protecting the female category of sports.

Whether a male person has been wrongly assigned at birth or not, it is not for female athletes to carry the burden of having their own rights violated in this way. If a separate competition category is needed, that is an entirely different discussion.

The IOC has failed in their responsibility here.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 05/08/2024 14:53

Exactly. The iOC position is untenable. They have failed all parties involved. They are responsible for this mess. They could have saved all this stress by sex testing just like they test for doping or pregnancy or have medical examinations for the Paralympics

TheKeatingFive · 05/08/2024 14:54

Khelif has undergone all necessary tests for Olympics.

There were no tests. They based eligibility on Khelif's passport.

The censuring of the language used by feminists around this issue has reached crescendo.

Because so many posters, who admit that they are not informed on this topic, wish others to continue to use the words that they, personally, wish to use describe the situation. In doing so, these posters are continuing the confusion, ie. their own confusion, and blocking their own learning on the topic. Because, instead of asking for clarification, they are censuring posters.

Using the words 'woman' and 'female' to describe these two male athletes has had such a detrimental impact on the discussion and ultimately, to the protection of female people's rights to fair sport and safety. This supports misogyny.

You, personally, can choose to use whatever language you want. But please stop censuring others for using precise and accurate language that shows the issues clearly.

ImASexFascistApparently · 05/08/2024 15:03

For anyone still in doubt, the press conference has taken place.

The doctor was very clear that Khelif and Yu-ting are male!

I await the many doubting posters who told us all we were horrible bigots, who I'm sure can't wait to come back to say they were wrong. They won't double down or engage in any whataboutery at all 🙄

The IBA was kicked out of Olympics last year - a decision that was appealed by rejected by sport’s arbitration court. IBA are run by Russians, have ulterior motives in trying to categorise Imani Khelif as a man and have left Olympic boxing in a mess.

so I’m not paying attention to what they say. It’s like listening to Nigel Farage saying there are no racists in the UK and believing him.

This "run by Russians" rubbish has been debunked already!

So what about the two independent laboratories from two separate countries that conducted the tests? Don't believe them either? Are they "run by Russians" too?

It's all they've got though 😬

the dr that was speaking at the press conference is president of the European Boxing Confederation. So that's another boxing governing body in addition to the WBO and the IBA being very clear that these boxers are male.

Dr Ioannis Filippatos - president of European Boxing Confederation since 2022

Dr. Ioannis Filippatos is a Surgeon, Sport Medicine Doctor, and Ob/Gyn Specialist, with over 25 years of experience at the well-known REA Hospital in Athens, Greece, where he is also a shareholder. REA Hospital is certified by the Swiss Approval International as one of the best hospitals in the world since 2016.

I wonder though... if he will just be dismissed by all who think he is just not an expert. Despite being an IVF specialist to boot, so obviously does have knowledge about endocrinology as well.

But, gosh, him calling these athletes male just must not mean a thing to those who admit that they have very little knowledge about sports or testosterone effects on female sport.

He just will not be 'expert' enough, or will be phobic, hateful or just corrupt.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 05/08/2024 17:11

Gosh, look at his extensive track record in the medicine of boxing. Let's see the press dismiss him.

Helleofabore · 05/08/2024 17:11

Or maybe Dr Ioannis Filippatos (Surgeon, Sport Medicine Doctor, and Ob/Gyn Specialist) is just an ignoramus who does not know anything about male people with DSDs or testosterone and therefore should just Shut The Fuck Up.

I am sure that people will feel that he should never use the word 'male' in conjunction with these two athletes. Because... emotional reasoning....

I mean, he called them MALE so could be fucking conflating them with other MALE people.

There were no tests. They based eligibility on Khelif's passport.

In fact, there were tests, two of them. One in Turkey in 2022 and one in India, in 2023. Both men failed both tests and the IOC decided to ignore the results and to pretend that both the IBA and the WBO were wrong to point out the results.

It will probably be for not using the language that they deem 'safe'.

I'm sure he's not as qualified as the people who have no idea what the normal testosterone levels are for human females... /s

BeyondOlympicLevelProcrastinator · 05/08/2024 17:14

I'm going to call him "Dr Ioannis Filippatos (Surgeon, Sport Medicine Doctor, and Ob/Gyn Specialist)" every time I reference him 😁

I'm going to call him Dr Pretty Badass.

Indeed.

The reality is that he will be just the 'wrong' doctor. Remember we already had a poster on another thread, who is also on this thread continuing their admonishing, who said they will not read Emma Hilton's work because she was 'transphobic' according their personal definition of transphobia.

ie. Emma doesn't believe that a person can change sex and doesn't believe that any male who can process testosterone should be called a woman when sex matters.

Imagine being so narrow minded about the material to read that even if someone is one of the world's experts, you wouldn't read their work because they didn't agree with you on one issue. And that while being respectful, as judged by reasonable people and other academics, because of refusing to adhere to someone else's philosophical belief, that is enough to exclude their work.

Imagine if any one of us did that and didn't read Harper's work or those dodgy incredibly biased and based on flawed premises to start with papers. How fucking credible would we be? Oh... that is right. We are ignorant. I forgot.

But there we have it.

And wrong assignment at birth, the arguments that people can change their sex on birth certs and passports.
Mean to keep women's sports for females only the governing bodies need to revert to chromosome testing. XX or XY the NHS suggest some people may be XXY but in my logic their should be no Ys in women's sport.

About 5 years ago Rachel McKinnon peeked me on the dangers of the whole trans thing
I used to have sympathy for Caster Sementa until I saw a couple of studio interviews - he's laughing in women's faces !

Helleofabore · 05/08/2024 17:31

I imagine the Dr Pretty Badass knows which 'women' he can assist in pregnancy and which he cannot. I think that anyone trying to tell him that a male with a DSD that went through male puberty was a woman for the purposes of him assisting to get pregnant and then delivering their infants that he would laugh heartily.

But I expect that we will be told, his opinion is wrong because.... these athletes are female as per their registration. I guess he must be ignorant of assessing infants too, no doubt.
