To think that having your child extra days during the school holidays should not reduce child maintenance?

As far as I can see, child maintenance is calculated based on the number of nights a child stays at the other parent's house (as well as other factors).

If the other parent were to have the children additional days (not nights) during the holidays, would this cause a reduction in child maintenance?

Both parents are working FT.

Current arrangement:
Parent 1 has children all day every day while juggling work and taking annual leave.

Parent 2 has children usual weeknight and EOW.

AIBU to think that if parent 2 was expected to have the children 1/2 of the days during the school holiday or arrange childcare while working, that the current CM amount should not be reduced?

I'm not an expert but CMS is calculated on nights not days.

Isn’t it calculated on an annual basis or has that changed? I seem to recall it being cut off at 52 nights per year, 104 nights etc to account for a weekly average but not being chopped and changed every week.

And yes, based on overnights not days - which didn’t help me a lot as my ex would collect from me after he finished work and drop them back in the morning before school so it really was just the sleeping part he was dealing with!
