Dog Poo 💩

where we live there is a shared access road/driveway to our property. At the beginning of this is a detached property, then the other properties all in a line with their own parking outside each property. There’s no gates, walls or fencing in between but it’s all very obvious whose property is whose.
there’s a dog in the detached property who roams freely, the driveway is very quiet only 3 properties and there’s no through access. So it’s safe.
but my gripe is that the dog shits outside our house regularly, and in this weather it’s almost daily and it’s really pissing me off,
we’ve spoken to the neighbours several times and always in a nice way.
they just say to let them know and they’ll clear it.
weve had to pick it up so our young kids don’t stand in it god knows how many times, and at the weekend my OH sent them a text just asking very nicely to check our drive if theyve let their dog out as we keep on having to move it.
they returned a very short message saying that they do check. Now we’ve no desire to fall out with anyone, especially not neighbours, but I’m finding this absurd that they think it’s ok. Im at a point where I want to sling it at their house/cars until they either keep their dog in or do actually clean up after it.
any suggestions mumsnetters?

They're selfish pigs I'm afraid, like lots of dog owners. Every dog owner, when asked, assiduously picks up every single turd and deposits it in the appropriate bin. Many of them are lying.

perhaps picking it up and putting it on their doorstep might help? Apologies I realise that may be confrontational!

Who owns the drive/Road?

Just curious, but do they pick any of it up?
It often amazes me when people have dogs that poop in their garden and they only clear it up every couple of weeks!
I have no kids to worry about but I still go out several times a day and keep bags in the garden so I can clean up straight away.

Most dog owners are responsible and very careful about cleaning up.....sadly others are manky gits!
Only thing I can think of is some sort of temporary fencing TBH.

Who owns the drive/Road?

It’s shared, so we all have responsibility for it, but where it’s shitting, is where we park our cars, on our driveway that is owned solely by us.
