To ask how to deal with annoying colleague?

Colleague has this habit of looking at her phone and laughing loudly. I don’t say anything and then she’ll be like “this is what I’m laughing at” (didn’t ask?) and she’ll come up next me and shoved her phone in front of me.

It’ll be a WhatsApp chat with her and her mates (never met them, don’t even know their names) talking about in jokes, which are only funny to them.

It’s just so bizarre ..

I expect you do something that annoys your colleagues too.

What is she like in general? Does she have low confidence and is trying to make herself look popular etc?

Or maybe she is worried that you think that she is laughing at you. Or could it be that she is trying to be friendly.

The next time it happens could you just say x please don't feel it is necessary to show me you phone.

Depends on how much you like the colleague. If you are happy with minimal interaction, then a simple "thanks but I am not interested in seeing your private conversations" is surely sufficient.

"It's OK, I'm not interested, thanks"

That is annoying but I would say "great" and walk off

Just tell her you're not really interested - they're her friends 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another one of the benefits of working for home at least some of the time is not having to be in the same room as someone like the person the OP mentions.

Put a sign up on your desk saying do not disturb or something. I found a great one on holiday the other week, it reads:

PISS OFF
I'M BUSY
