To be a bit freaked out about this mystery poo?

We got home after being out all day and I went upstairs and found a poo in the toilet. When I was back downstairs I asked dp if he could check next time to make sure his poo had been flushed away. Dp said it wasn’t his and that when he had been for a wee earlier (he came in to get spare clothes for ds and we stayed in the car) there had been nothing in the toilet.
So where has this mystery poo come from? We were out for 4/5 hours after he had gone back in earlier in the day.

It's been lurking and has reappeared

We call them 'lurkers'. I thought it was just us.

Take it out of the loo, put it in the garden and sprinkle some holy water on it (just to be safe).

@TheSerenePinkOrca That's a breach of tenancy!

They can't write tenancy clauses like that. It would be an unfair clause. If it's in the contract it's meaningless and unenforceable.

It's sensible to change the lock. If the LL needs access just make sure you're there to give them access, or make a copy of the new key available to them.

Neighbour's cat via window? (We had a camping chair on our balcony one summer and a cat kept coming to poo on it)

Absolutely! Always! You never know how many copies of the key have been made!

Changing the barrel is easy. Lots of youtube videos. Just keep the old barrel to change back if you ever move.

The LL or agency shouldn't ever be letting themselves in so in theory should never know you changed it.

We have very regular house inspections (I don’t know whether it’s because we have pets or whether they do it for everyone) so we would need to tell them that we’d changed them.

They don’t consider us not being at home to be an adequate reason to reschedule!

I’d say dh had a poo and either forgot or is fibbing.

ive been the pooer before who hasn’t checked it’s flushed and when dh has complained I’ve denied everything 😁

😵 then they're breaking the law. It's your HOME and you're legally entitled to quiet enjoyment.

The only time they could ever enter without your permission is an emergency or if you're being obstructive regarding the LL carrying out annual gas checks etc...
