To be a bit freaked out about this mystery poo?

We got home after being out all day and I went upstairs and found a poo in the toilet. When I was back downstairs I asked dp if he could check next time to make sure his poo had been flushed away. Dp said it wasn’t his and that when he had been for a wee earlier (he came in to get spare clothes for ds and we stayed in the car) there had been nothing in the toilet.
So where has this mystery poo come from? We were out for 4/5 hours after he had gone back in earlier in the day.

What??!!
How could I have missed that one?!

There was a Netflix show like this...people living secretly in attic.

rear-a-poo-rants?

I used to get a weird feeling someone was coming in my place- heating kept being turned down. I lived alone. There was an adjoining door to another property. Apparently no-one had the key. I just knew someone was using my bathroom. I was going to be a bridesmaid and the bride hung the dress over the door. We came back and it was trapped in the locked door. Person on other side swore they didn't have a key and had never been in. They had. I was most worried as I couldn't get the dress out of the door at the time.

It was a difficult time in my life and I'd even seen a consultant psychiatrist thinking I was paranoid before this happened (thankfully, psychiatrist didnt diagnose anything and said I was having a normal response to a relationship breakdown).

Was so lucky I had the bride with me who put the dress up there and then saw it locked in the door and then magically not locked in the door after I'd confronted the neighbour. This could have really tipped me over the edge otherwise! I moved out and was never "paranoid" again.

So yeah, moral of story. Check your attic ESPECIALLY if there isn't a key pr you're terraced or semi-detached. Put gaffer tape round it or something.

Oh and even after this, I bet it was just your partner or a stuck poo/dodgy flush. Unless there's other things... hmmmm.

I had similar issues. Think dirty toilet but my house was empty as I lived elsewhere and was either about to rent or getting the property back before moving back in. I suspected the estate agent got caught short but it was never proved.

Tinytimmy123 · 27/07/2024 05:05

I would be setting up a hidden camera

Highelf · 27/07/2024 05:27

Dp is embraced his poo didn't flush and denied it? 😂

We can’t even get up there 😬

Have you ever wondered whyyyyy???😱

Londonrach1 · 27/07/2024 06:59

Agent or landlord.

hammering · 27/07/2024 07:01

It's a ghost poo. It's just got stuck somewhere and floated back up.

magnoliaagain · 27/07/2024 15:51

DH. For sure. Just was a bit embarrassed

Theunamedcat · 27/07/2024 20:25

Could be dodgy plumbing I stayed in a hotel in Blackpool you flushed the toilet in the room next door it came up in the shower 🤮

NeverDropYourMooncup · 27/07/2024 20:29

It's your DP denying it or the landlord did an unannounced/illegal visit.

The only people that we know of who have a key is the agency/lanndlord

You didn't change the locks when you moved in?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

(If you didn't then do this ASAP. Keep the old barrel to put back in when you leave the tenancy...)

It could have been a previous tenant who saw you go out so let themselves in to take a dump!

Gallowayan · 27/07/2024 20:33

Stichintime · 26/07/2024 23:36

It's been lurking and has reappeared

I immediately thought of Liz Truss, when I read this.😂

Is it the norm to change the locks when you move into a rented house?!

We haven’t 😬

Absolutely! Always! You never know how many copies of the key have been made!

Changing the barrel is easy. Lots of youtube videos. Just keep the old barrel to change back if you ever move.

The LL or agency shouldn't ever be letting themselves in so in theory should never know you changed it.

TheWoodlanders · 27/07/2024 21:52

Is there a mirror in your bathroom? Lift it off and look behind it for a corridor into a hidden apartment

dizzydizzydizzy · 27/07/2024 22:11

The most likely explanations are far more likely. Either DP did it or a previous poo returned to the bowl.

I'd get the agency/landlord to go up the attic if you're too afraid to (I would be too scared). I'd probably be away from the house when they do it. The thought of someone living up in the roof of my house terrifies me.

Omg! I've always been paranoid about plumbing, I try not to flush the toilet when I have washing in the machine just in case something gets crossed somewhere and toilet water somehow gets in the washing machine😆you're not putting my mind at rest any 😱

ElliLovesDogs · 27/07/2024 23:48

Man in the attic

Incakewetrust · 27/07/2024 23:52

It's more than likely your DS.
My youngest forgets to flush all the time 🙈

HauntedbyMagpies · 27/07/2024 23:57

@TheSerenePinkOrca That's a breach of tenancy!
