i am no more interested today in the sunday times piece on Lisa B who married to some property developer, designs maternity wear than I Was in her whacking on about her perfect weekend yesterday.

and yes I know its unreasonable - but its the same aversion i have to any other so called ex model celeb prosing on about their lifestyle.

it's because she has a book to promote - but I do agree with you - who cares?

TheFallenMadonna · 13/04/2008 18:40

Ah, but the piece in the Times was a little bit about it all wasn't it. I wondered how pleased Lisa B would be with it...

poppy34 · 13/04/2008 18:41

at least you've told me what she is selling... I didn't care enough to read that far.

I'll have a reread of times piece- I couldnt get that far without thinking not her again.

I was going to start a thread asking the same thing. I have never heard of her and today I get a double job: my ST at lunch and my mother's telegraph at afternoon tea.

Judy1234 · 13/04/2008 19:02

Yes but you can laugh at it - what comes out of it most of all is she hardly sees her husband, she has to go events with girl friends and she is in one of those marriages where the husband is just never there because of his career. Those are not really very nice marriages to be in actually in practice. I didn't get the impression she was that happy actually.

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:04

he has a lot of money, Xenia. a lot more than she was able to ever realise through her own merit.

which isn't hard to imagine.

windygalestoday · 13/04/2008 19:04

lol next week we can all hear about kerry katonas delivery!

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:05

I'm glad the local yokel shop was out of The Times when I went in this afternoon.

Her bee stung lips would have ruined an otherwise lovely afternoon.

DarrellRivers · 13/04/2008 19:05

only read the Saturday telegraph one, her house in the country is a 27 bedroom house
xenia, it doesn't suprise me

brimfull · 13/04/2008 19:06

I have never heard of her.

Why is she famous...am I missing something?

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:06

She's famous for . . .

Um, she's married to someone very rich.

And she's an entreprenuer. Of course.

Aren't they all?

DarrellRivers · 13/04/2008 19:07

model i think

DarrellRivers · 13/04/2008 19:07

was she starting a website as well?

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:09

Natch, DR.

Probably have a skincare line or cosmetics out soon.

Perhaps a fragrance with some original name someone else thought up, like 'Don't You Want to Be Me?'

DarrellRivers · 13/04/2008 19:10

It's very easy I suspect to set up such a business with a DH with oodles of spare cash for capital [slightly jealous emotion]

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:11

Or get a book published.

Don't be jealous, DR. Bet he hires Eastern European prostitutes whilst away on business.

DarrellRivers · 13/04/2008 19:16

Or might well upgrade for a younger model in 10 years....
Different worlds really, but still the same in many respects, life , love , jealousy , boredom, etc
Does money make you happier, probably not, just makes things easier I suppose

TheFallenMadonna · 13/04/2008 19:22

But she has lots of important yummy mummy info to share. Like having a gym in your house is very convenient. And that if you spend more than you earn, you will end up in debt.

You can't knock that kind of insight...

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:23

or if you spend more than your husband earns, in her case.

Judy1234 · 13/04/2008 19:42

I just sensed a wistfulness about the comments about the husband not being there or perhaps that was just the slant of the journalist who interviewed her about her book and web site who was probably jealous.

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 19:53

you actually wasted time reading that drivel, Xenia?!

poppy34 · 13/04/2008 20:27

definite slant from journalist... who made a very good point about wtf people living like her think that they have to offer in terms of lifestyle advice apart from the gems fallenmadonna shared.

although xenia makes a good point re soe of implied comments re that kind of marriage , this article was a completely differnet view on her life from the one selling her book discussing her perfect weekend yesterday

expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 20:31

What I always wonder is, 'WHO buys these books?' Is it the same type of person who reads those car-crash books like 'No, Daddy, No!' and the autobiographies of Jade Goody and Jordan?

poppy34 · 13/04/2008 20:38

v.good question...and who commissions them?

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 13/04/2008 20:48

she's married to someone very, very rich, poppy .
