Help - work dilemma

Don’t know what I’m looking for, maybe just venting. I’ve been in my job in childcare the last 18 months. Got offered another job which I took but after 4 weeks decided to stay and take notice back as it’s close for older son to school and not upset daughter (3) before I handed my notice I was room leader but when I was leaving they gave to another girl the role (she’s there 3 months from another EU country and has no prior experience. Obviously they couldn’t take that back off her and have let me be RL in another centre for a few mornings etc and be back in the room rest of week. I’m just finding it hard to now be working ‘under’ someone else when I’ve been there longer and more exp and this person didn’t listen when I was RL would just go to management for stuff. Sorry don’t know why I’m posting feeling lost and depressed 😔

Sorry - I’m not sure what your dilemma is. You were lucky that your old company cancelled your notice and found somewhere for you to go. Hang on in there, and if you do have the most experienced then maybe you can get the next promotion.

There's no dilemma

Presumably when she returns after her 3 month they'll give you your old job back?

Spirallingdownwards · 25/07/2024 20:28

Think yourself lucky that they had a space still available for you.

Don't worry about what other staff are doing. That's up to management who they appoint.

Unsure why you felt the need to mention she was from "another EU country" unless you are of the mindset of she came over here and took my job on which case jog on!

I think she means she's only been there 3 months. So I am working out if the problem is the 3 months or because she's "foreign"?

Ahh
That would make sense

OP resents her being young, forgein and new to the country

This is of your own doing, OP, and like others have said you’re lucky they could still fit you in and reversed your resignation.
hopefully a promotion opportunity comes up soon but until then you need to toe the line and there’s nothing you can do.

You lucky the company gave you your job back. Yabu. Wonder what the new team leader say on mn re the member of staff who gave notice to leave them didn't and looks down on her as she's young and foreign..
