Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

The IOPC are investigating the PO actions towards a bystander as well.

Maybe the men fought back against the police as they were scared of being beaten... and after this, maybe more young, Asian men might feel like that, that they are actually just defending themselves.

Where is the confirmation that the man in the floor is the same accused of breaking the police officers nose?

I’ve seen 4 people arrested, all now released pending enquiries.

Do you have a link confirming it was the same man please?

If I find a link I’ll be sure to update you….

There's just no need for you to make comments

How so?

By punching a woman? Scared? Ok!

I saw Reform commending the police thug! Embarrassing 😳

So it’s ok for Asian men to punch emergency workers try to steal guns and generally behave like dicks because they’re scared ?
that’s as big a pile of pony as the officer kicking the gift in the face

cakeorwine · 25/07/2024 20:57

People are talking about them trying to steal guns.
Did they try to steal guns - or was it suggested that they could have tried to steal the guns?

There is a massive difference between trying to steal guns and they could have stolen guns.

ItsMeNotTheProblem · 25/07/2024 20:46

So it’s not confirmed?

I’m sure confirmation will come out in the press in the next few days, let’s have an update then shall we.

I’m sure he wasn’t tasered for shits and giggles!

TheHateIsNotGood · 25/07/2024 21:01

Kicking anyone in the head and then stamping on a head is 'yob-supreme' behaviour.

As a 'devil's advocate' I'm not sure what my response would be if I'd just seen my smaller, female colleague's nose broken by being punched in the face by a bigger, stronger male assailant.

I'd be perty darn angry and would be taking that MFer down; hopefully without resorting to yobo behavior nor guns.

However I'm not a police person so what I think is worth nort compared to what actual police people have to do and deal with every day.

Tell that to the family of Dalian Atkinson.

Why is it embarrassing? It is exactly how I would expect people like them two, to respond to something like that. They love to fan the flames.

Elle7 · 25/07/2024 21:06

Perhaps we should just do away with police wearing uniform and let them patrol places like airports, where you require high security, and then when there is a security emergency, they could run in, like the London Bridge Narwhal tusk hero, bringing the assailants down, and then you’re classed as a fuck off hero instead!

The police force made it their red herring and first flag up the pole to see if it would wash surg justifying their actions.

Not brave enough to commit to it as a fact of what happened and have to corroborateit when the full facts are out there, but just enough to throw a whiff of it out there as justification why the police may seem heavy handed and for the lee andersons and farages of this world to repeat as gospel.

I have no idea what you' re talking about. I was in manchester at the office of an organisation, going about my business and was treated badly by the police. For obvious reasons I won't say more.

I'm not " silly"

You compared the people who rioted in Leeds to chimpanzees.

You compared the people involved in this incident to baboons.

You may not be aware, but those comparisons say a lot about your mindset.

Provocation mitigates the sentence, it's not a defence if it's deemed you've gone beyond self defence.

I have no problem with people arguing he's guilty but given x, y and z behaviour of the people arrested (if borne out) then he should be spared jail or whatever, but at least acknowledge the guilt.

They'd also have to accept that his position as a police officer and the fact the man is prone on the floor are both extremely aggravating factors

If I attacked someone who had attacked me first there is no court in this land that wouldn't see that as heavily mitigated, even if I killed them.
I am not saying the police officer was doing the right thing but his actions are hugely mitigated by the events leading up to this several second video. In America, people get shot for the same.

Mayorq · 25/07/2024 21:20

Yes and mitigation is different to a defence.
You would still be guilty, the facts of the incident would just be taken in to consideration when deciding your punishment.

twentysomethingendssoon · 25/07/2024 21:20

@eggplant16
Are you drunk?

You literally quoted me and accused me of condoning the behaviour of the officer and now you have gone off on some weird tangent

See below

twentysomethingendssoon
Not condoning what's happened and we won't know what has gone on unless they do an independent review but I do I wonder how much trauma that police officer has been through to react like that

So you are condoning it then?

No

They are not.

It's like in warfare. Soldiers kill the enemy,
But soldiers can be prosecuted for killing enemy combatants once they are no longer deemed a danger. No matter what happened before that.

The police are held and are expected to be upheld to a higher standard. No matter what happened.

We are supposed to have left the days of the police beating people up behind.

But it’s ok for men to beat up women? Those days are never left behind are they?!
