Normal for covid?

CityBro · 21/07/2024 22:06

normal temp

headache

body aches

sharp stomach pain

skin hurts to touch

pressure behind eyes

nausea

burning ears (really painful to touch)

dizziness

aching gums

slightly short of breath

exhausted

All on day 1. Hoping it doesn't get worse. Even my phone screen is painful to look at. Never had it before to my knowledge. So very new to the 'is it normal' party!

Apologies for the AIBU post. No responses on covid board.

Everything is normal when you get Covid.

Bracing myself!

Apart from the burning ears. I have all of that plus sharp random stabbing pains especially in my ribs. Day 3 at the moment.

LuckysDadsHat · 21/07/2024 22:17

2 weeks in and that is how mine has been. I am left absolutely exhausted. Sleeping 6 hours a day and sleeping at night as well. I'm only awake now as the cat jumped on me!

All DH muscles were rippling under the skin it was utterly bizarre!

My 74 year old mum has got Covid for the first time and she feels horrific. She says she feels all the things you quoted. It sounds horrible.
take care xx

Anothnamechang · 21/07/2024 22:18

When we had it one of the last symptoms to appear was diarrhoea and as someone who suffers terrible ibs, there was no describing this! Brace yourself for how bad it may become xx

I'm currently in the bath with the lights off. Last time I felt this ill was when I had postpartum sepsis. Amazing how quickly symptoms came on too. I went for a run this morning. Ate lunch as normal. 2 hours later just went rapidly downhill!

I’ve now had it 5 times and each time it does become more bearable. One time it did turn into pneumonia so if you are worried about your symptoms, get checked over xx

Bearpawk · 21/07/2024 22:28

I had the most excruciating head pain. I get hormonal migraines but this was worse. Would have gone to a&e if I didn't have Covid.

Hemiola · 21/07/2024 22:30

With the exception of ski , ear and eye symptoms you have, we've just had the latest bout of 'summer covid' and all of us have the rest of the symptoms you describe. As another person described, with a nice bout of diarrhoea as all the other symptoms subsided.
Get well soon

Tel12 · 21/07/2024 22:34

That sounds like a lot to put up with. You might want to think about holding off the exercise even when you are feeling better, for a while anyway, as it can make a reappearance. Hope you are soon over the worst of it.

Wellthisisterrible · 21/07/2024 22:37

I’m just getting over my fourth bout, felt pretty fine really, a bit tired and achey but not much more than that, the major symptom this time was change in smell, everything smells like rotten meat, absolutely vile, I knew I needed to test because of that!!

CityBro · 21/07/2024 22:39

I don't think I'd feel as bad if I wasn't a single mum to a 5yo who also has covid (he's asymptomatic now, mind symptoms for a day!)

I'd assume you have Covid and someone's talking about you.

CityBro · 21/07/2024 22:41

Sorry if this is tmi, but I also have a really awful ache in my labia. It's unbearable almost. I didn't realise covid had such strange symptoms.

I’ve just had it and my symptoms were a stabbing pain in my throat that came and went, then for a couple of days was constantly sore, Fatigue and aching (couldn’t stand the weight of the duvet or my leg touching the other). Chills then going red hot, then a blocked nose and sneezing more like the common cold for a couple of days. Then the coughing occasionally turned in to a horrendous cough and coughing fits where I couldn’t catch my breath and was sick from it a few times. Loss of appetite throughout, a bit headachy and lightheaded.

Weirdly had stomach flutters like someone mentioned their husband having muscle contractions - it felt like a baby moving.

What do you mean?

Boysnme · 21/07/2024 22:54

I have all of the symptoms you have listed apart from my skin being sore to touch but I also feel like someone has put razors in my mouth and throat. This is me on day 3 and I was hoping to start to feel better not worse!
