My first husband was okay on the surface, but little did I know that he was cheating for the whole of our 20 year relationship. There was some violence also.

My second DH is so amazing. I’m so in love with him 16 years in. He’s twice the size of my first husband and has never laid a hand on me. So loving and funny.

what are your positive stories ?

The first time my now DH came over my rescue cat ran away (totally usual for her) 5 minutes later she was being a total tart on his lap! That's when I knew he was a keeper, everything he's done since then has just reinforced that first impression when my cat chose him 🐈‍⬛

Mine is the best. He came into my life well after my children had left home and just a couple of years before my first grandchild was born. He has been unfailingly supportive to me and to my adult children, they love him (probably more than me!) and he is the most loving 'grandfather' my grandchildren could ever want. I was in hospital for 2 weeks last summer after a bad reaction to chemotherapy and he put up with me not wanting to see him for the first few days (I didn't feel well enough to talk to anybody and just wanted to sleep) but he still came in every day just to find out how I was. He tells me I'm beautiful even though I'm now a one-breasted raddled old hag. He brings me breakfast in bed every day and loves to do things for me (even when I don't want him to).

I nearly didn't meet him as I thought he lived too far away and I didn't want to spend all my time travelling, or waiting for him to travel, but it is the best decision I have ever made.
