Aargh!

Either make an actual comment or just send a thanks. You don't need to copy an entire post which has to be scrolled through just to add "This" to it. So tedious.

Or AIBU?

(Ditto with quoting the OP of a thread.)

They agree with the post and/or want to be updated about it. Don't see the issue

Haha! I suppose such responses were fairly inevitable. 😁

Yep it's a short version of 'couldn't have put it better myself' - which is entirely valid in the garnering of opinion.

I suppose people could write 'couldn't have put it better myself' but meh. 'This' does the same thing with less typing.

I agree with you about quoting the OP of a thread though.
Fuck off doing that.

Blinketyblinkblank · 21/07/2024 07:46

I plead guilty to quoting posts quite frequently but usually add a comment or make a point of my own relating to it.

What I find a bit annoying is when people say they agree with a point a pp made but don't quote that poster so I then have to scroll back, sometimes through pages, just to see what it is they are agreeing with.

quockerwodger · 21/07/2024 07:55

I find it worse when people post a response that's basically saying the same as everyone else or they're agreeing with the op but they write out long and meandering posts with little structure or punctuation as they regale us with information about pets and ferrets that have little to nothing to do woth the thread or the posts within it because its like they've their own soap box they want to stand on so any tenuous link to topics they want to discuss and they'll be off on one long rant talking about that instead of what the OP wanted to talk about so always proof read before hittong post to avoid spelling errors.

This 😃

Seriously it is annoying when someone quotes the op's original post like we haven't all read it!

It's just indicating that it's been put perfectly and to let OP know that another person supports that view. No big deal.
