You and your family on holiday, but you can see the outline of your nips slightly showing under the material of your dress? It was one of those dresses where you just couldn’t wear a bra. I’m not sure it’s immediately obvious, but maybe it is. I love the picture as everyone is actually looking at the camera and smiling. My first thought was to edit it but then I’m not sure why I’d do this after all it’s only a body!

AIBU to post it unfiltered?

We took another where my positioning is slightly off-camera so you can’t tell, but two of us aren’t smiling or looking.

No, I don't think I would, really...

That’s fair enough, I definitely thought twice

How can anyone judge without seeing said photae?

StampOnTheGround · 19/07/2024 19:22

I feel like it's something I wouldn't bat an eyelid at if someone else did it, but not something I'd post of myself

It’s a dark coloured, thick material dress. You can only slightly see.

Just edit them out, smooth the outline

Arightoldcarryabag · 19/07/2024 19:23

You'll get some comments no doubt, people really have nothing better to do.
But it's completely reasonable and there's absolutely no reason we should be filtering these things, it's not like you're posting your topless beach shots (which again, fine if it's the right platform and is your thing but maybe not on the family whatsapp or facebook)

Talipesmum · 19/07/2024 19:25

Totally fine to post it if you like. I’d probably edit it just so i wouldn’t worry - it’s easily done and it’s not like you’re adding a ton of filters or anything.

XChrome · 19/07/2024 19:25

I wouldn't worry about it for myself. However, if you belong to some strict religious community you might get some flack for it.

spicysamosahotcupoftea · 19/07/2024 19:26

Outline of nipples? God forbid!!

Just post it if it makes you happy. The only ones who will mind are the jealous ones

S0livagant · 19/07/2024 19:27

It's fine. I follow a popular 90s/00s band with women in their 50s, and I noticed one doesn't wear a bra. I think it's great that some women still feel they can go braless these days when it's a lot rarer than in the past. They are just nips!

BobbyBiscuits · 19/07/2024 19:28

If it makes you feel self conscious then slightly edit it. But I wouldn't. I don't even know how for starters, but if everyone looks nice in it and it's the best pic then I don't think the outline of a nipple under a dark dress is worth getting worried about?
I never wear a bra, so the times I do in a pic I'm really conscious of, oh, you can see the line of the bra cup under my top etc. but I always forget it if the facial expression is nice! We always scrutinise tiny things about ourselves that nobody else would notice.

Zanatdy · 19/07/2024 19:29

i’d edit but it doesn’t sound like a major issue so go ahead

Arlanymor · 19/07/2024 19:29

If it's an image of you then it's up to you. People are very subjective about these types of things, so if it doesn't bother you and isn't breaking any laws then do as you wish. Just be prepared that your version of 'slightly showing' might not be other people's, so you may get comments, but again, if it's fine by you then pay them no mind.

Lentilweaver · 19/07/2024 19:31

I wouldn't myself. I don't care or comment if others do.

easily photoshopped - job done

Aquamarine1029 · 19/07/2024 19:46

Photoshop tassels to cover your nipples. Job done.

TeabySea · 19/07/2024 19:49

No issue with the nips. But I wouldn't post holiday pictures until I was back home again.

Sethera · 19/07/2024 19:52

Be wary of advertising the fact you are away from home.

Blisterly · 19/07/2024 20:01

I haven’t worn a bra for years now, so maybe I don’t really understand the issue. If you’re happy to go out without a bra I don’t really understand why you’d worry about a photo? They’re just nipples, possibly a bit further south than they would be if you usually wear a bra, but I’m not sure anyone else will care.

Justrelax · 19/07/2024 20:02

I wouldn't. I just don't think other people want to see your nips - why do you need to share the photo?

Cinocino · 19/07/2024 20:03

Loads of women wear no bra every day. It’s a non issue for most people.

I see men's nips all the time. Should they edit photographs or tape them each morning? What's wrong with nips?

MonsteraMama · 19/07/2024 20:07

Did nobody watch TV in the 90's? Nip outlines were very trendy, I've seen Alyssa Milano's nips more times than I've seen my own. Since the 90's are back in now I say go for it. I bet no one will even notice.

Christ men walk around in those grey sweatpants where you can count the wrinkles in their foreskin, what's the harm in the outline of a nipple?
