‘America is run by childless cat ladies’ JD Vance

Is this seriously who some people are rooting for? Any woman with children who thinks they would be safe from him should know that any man who is so nasty about one group of women, usually hates women full stop.

What’s the problem supposed to be with being childless?

Blackcats7 · 29/07/2024 13:38

Women are only of (limited) value if they breed. If you don’t breed and especially if you CHOOSE not to breed you must keep your head down and be grateful to the men running your country in whatever way they decide to do so.
Very sad that any women vote/ will vote for this twat.
Haven’t heard Trump condemn this but then he only thinks women are good for one thing himself so not exactly a shock.
Men have always feared and therefore hated women who don’t want a man and choose a cat instead. It takes away male power if we are not bothered by their good opinion.
Mr Vance still thinks we should be seen as witches and receive the appropriate punishment.
Off to feed my familiar now.

pandasorous · 29/07/2024 14:05

when I eventually rule the world. it will be compulsory for every household to have atleast one feline overlord. then everyone will be a catlady/man.
will solve all problems. less stress. people staying in to be with their cats so less accidents, crimes and no war.

I feel like the childless cat ladies would do a better job to be honest. They’d get my vote.

Yes mine too.Although I am a dog lady, very fond of cats and childless cat ladies.

It's the old 'selfish' trope isn't it. If you're childless, or even worse deliberately childfree, you have no investment in the future, don't care about other people and therefore shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of things.
According to him.

The irony, given the country has been run by an elderly man for several years - and his running mate is unlikely to see out the next decade.

itsnotabouthepasta · 29/07/2024 14:21

The utterly baffling thing about American politics is that if you spoke to them about a country such as Afghanistan, Syria or , or South Sudan, they would say how awful it is that women are not given the right to vote and are treated as second class citizens.

But then at the same time, they'll have men like Vance openly stating that "if you have kids you should have two votes because those who don't have kids don't care about the country"

Yet they hold themselves up as some beacon of democratic integrity. It's utterly bizarre.

Echobelly · 29/07/2024 14:23

They're just trying to shame single women into settling for relationships with awful men like them. They are so angry that many women are happy and thriving without them.

AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment · 29/07/2024 14:37

If America was run by childless cat ladies, it would be in a much better state!

Exactly.
How many women start wars?
% of women guilty of violent crime is small compared to men.
% of women who abuse children is small compared to men.

Anyone read Stepford Husbands? I’m leaning towards that for a more peaceful and equal future.

TooBigForMyBoots · 29/07/2024 16:06

I'd rather a childless cat lady than a convicted criminal, repeat sex offender and the idiot boy he's running with.

DramaLlamaBangBang · 29/07/2024 16:21

It will be interesting hearing him explain why George Washington didn't care about the future of America because he didn't have any children.

George Washington was a man obviously.

polajjjl · 29/07/2024 16:28

Genuinely think the world would be a better place if we had more cat ladies in power.

My long ago ex went to Yale. Many tossers go there

Including George W Bush. Who even though he looks bloody fantastic now compared to Trump, was an awful President.

Papyrophile · 29/07/2024 17:14

@BlackShuck3 His book is (irritatingly in light of his recent behaviour) actually very good, and he comes across as respectful of (some of) the women he knows -- though not his mother. I think @AmiablePedant 's assessment of him was spot on. Accepting the VP slot on the Trump ticket is the act of a cynical opportunist.

Dandeliontea123 · 29/07/2024 17:21

I'd rather have Larry the Cat run America than Vance.

Simonjt · 29/07/2024 17:23

What will he do when he realised a cat actually runs the UK?

Crazy cat ladies are the best type of human, obviously he doesn’t like them because he doesn’t want more women who are independent to influence women who are under control.

IfYouEscapeTheLionsDenDontGoBackForYourHat · 29/07/2024 18:01

I just watched Hillbilly Elegy and his ridiculous comment makes sense. His mother was struggling with a lot of shame. Eg, when JD Vance said to his mother that her new boyfriend had said something very disrespectful about her, she got angry (crazily angry) with her son!

His mother is sober/off drugs now, but you can see that outsourcing shame was the family modus operandi.

Yeh, he said to his mother that he didn't want to move in with her new boyfriend as it would inevitably end and then he'd have to move out, again. But he is shaming women for having a higher bar than his mother had. Sorry, no disrespect to his mother, but having just watched the film yesterday, after piecing together that he was the man who made the childless cat laty comment, it does seem like a transparent attempt to control women. Get back indoors love.

And according to Amber Rudd, who thought she’d make a better PM than Theresa May because she was a mother.

I don't think that was Amber Rudd. I think it was Andrea Leadsom. But, yes, same point applies.

Doh! Yes Andrea Leadsom.

TrishM80 · 31/07/2024 11:37

Is there any man in the Republican Party in the US who isn't an odious, obnoxious arsehole?

twoshedsjackson · 31/07/2024 11:38

I am reminded of the saying I have quoted in a different context: Cats before twats.
No brainer.
