Iam so cross, but don't know what to do.

I will try and make this brief, I bought a Dell laptop in January, it was a special offer so didnt cost too much. When it arrived it wouldnt stay or sometimes just wouldnt connect to the internet, tried lots of solutions. Eventually (march) an engineer put a new modem in, still didnt work. Dell agreed that vista has problems with dial up sometimes and as we cant get broadband, they agreed to send a new computer with xp on.
That was early march. its now mid april and the new one hasnt arrived, I spent most of last and this week on the phone. at one point the dell man said it had been returned to the depot to be scanned for damage, why? he could offer no explanation. for days they have said yes it will be delivered tomorrow. then 2 days ago, they said the courier has lost it and they need to start an investigation.
What do I do now ?

Ring again tomorrow, speak to the line manager in customer care and demand compensation or you will take your business elsewhere.

Thankyou nell12, I have been ringing everyday, I have mentioned refund and it didnt seem to bother them. I suppose Im a very small fish in the very big dell sea

Biased as everyone I know has Dell and loves it. BUT I do know from inside M/soft tht they are having huge problems with Vista and it's causing major headaches - fingers crossed that XP sorts things for you.

He is the Chairman of the company - when I did so after appalling customer service - his PA sorted things out for me.

Thankyou, I dont think I did my research about vista, we use XP on our desktop with no problem so hopefully will be ok, if I ever get it. soapbox I will try that,Thankyou I bought from Dell thinking they were very good, but now think very differently.

hi i got a dell laptop via car phone wharehouse and its been totally fine. A few letters on my keypad went so i rang up and they sent a new one out the very next day via a courier. i know it doesnt help but just thought i'd let u know there not all bad.

Get the Saturday Guardian and contact Tony Levene (back page, money section) the man is a genius at sorting out this sort of crappy service!

I still didn't hear from Dell today, so will email Michael and get the Saturday Guardian.

Just get a refund. Dell is shit, the service is shit. Get out while you can!!
