To buy a wedding dress 1/2 sizes too small

I am a size 10 on top and some bottoms, but a size 12 in jeans.

The wedding dress I have fallen in love with is over budget at £2,300. The thought of spending that on a dress makes me wince.

I have found the exact dress, second hand, in perfect condition, for £800. But it's a size 8. It hasn't been altered.

Wedding is 14 months away.

AIBU to buy it and diet and exercise my way into it? Or more accurately, am I being stupid?

It sounds crazy but I did exactly that. When I ordered my dress I measured size 14 on top and just into a 12 on bottom so they recommend I get a 14. I got a 10 and dieted/exercised my way into it, actually needed taken in. Your wedding is the best incentive for loosing weight, I've struggled my whole life to loose weight and it was very easy leading up to the wedding

Both those dresses are beautiful and you look gorgeous in the second one. Whichever you choose, you will look fantastic.

I lost 10" off my waist in 5 months before my wedding. It's definitely doable!
