This is a thread for people who want to enjoy the football ⚽️ tonight.

We are Scottish and supporting England. Watching from home with our kids (15 and 11). Got a few beers and irn brus in and some snacks.

In between watching football I was following the election by mainlining politics podcasts. Stayed up the whole night on 4th July. It's been a testing month for my husband, who is also completely disinterested in politics.

I'm not even a football fan really, I only watch the world Cup and the euros
But will be watching tonight

Lol, I feel your pain there! The H doesn't like politics and looks at me like I've two heads when I want to stay up and watch something American etc. he had minimal interest in the British election. Sometimes I think it's only the football that keeps us together 😳

I had three young boys ride past me and one politely said, "excuse me, is it coming home?" I said I hope so and they rode off shouting "We hope so too!" It was lovely and you could feel their excitement!

For the 2000 World Cup, I had a 'Best footie anthems' CD I used to play a lot.

Oh this BBC intro is perfect - I have a heart of stone and it's making me tear up. What a brilliant tone to set. And to show the current women's Euro champions, to remind us we've already won this.

Have had Vindaloo running round my head all day. Very excited and hopeful, but have had so much disappointment over the years...

I don’t follow football normally but love it when England play. I enjoyed the Lionesses game yesterday. Getting excited now. As I said on another post, deep down I think Spain will probably beat us but I’m still hopeful ⚽️🇬🇧⚽️🇬🇧🏆

I have to admit I don't enjoy watching football, but obviously I hope England win - although we are world champions at losing at the last minute and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, in all manner of sports.

It would be great for Gareth Southgate to stick two fingers up to all his critics who have been so vile to him, and young Olly Watkins is a Devon boy local to us.

We were on holiday in France when they won the World Cup a few years back - everyone just went completely mental, it was great! We need something to cheer everyone up, and if a few Scottish fans are supporters too, even better. Spread the lurve.

I am sooo excited. I don't think we're winning because Spain have been consistently fantastic this competition. But you never know, after all it is a game of football.
