it is just frustrating that virgin charge so much for this one channel?

The whole thing with Virgin is frustrating, we only have Virgin because of the BB being the cheapest and it would cost a lot more if I had Sky instead of Virgin. Most of the benefits are with Sky because they own the channels and lease them to Virgin, but I do like the On Demand services you get with Virgin over Sky.

ruddynorah · 11/04/2008 21:17

broadband is free with sky

Ledodgy · 11/04/2008 21:17

sky is more expensive and you can get some of the baby tv programmes on on demand anyway without subscribing.

soopermum1 · 12/04/2008 13:46

if you're with virgin and don't like the cost, call them up and say it's too expensive. i did this yesterday and they halved my bill instantly for exactly the same service. then you could get babytv with the money you've saved

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 12/04/2008 13:47

I have sky and I don't get babytv for free. Does it depend on what package you have?

SpecialOffer · 12/04/2008 13:53

I am also with Virgn, phoned them to say I was going to move to sky as they were cheaper. They have given me extra channels for free and reduced my bill!

TinkerbellesMum · 12/04/2008 14:03

You can really play Sky and Virgin off of each other to get your bill reduced.

Sky do do BB and phone services, but it's a more expensive package and not as good as Virgin on those two which for me are more important.

Oh, I thought everyone was watching the baby channelly thing on 285

I won't bother watching it then if it's crap

phoebebouffet · 12/04/2008 22:00

I don't actually think the the baby channel exists, every time I put it on it's just a stupid advert for the silver cross travel system which looks huge and has about 12 different parts to it! You aint missing much, however I much prefer SKY to virgin, if we don't get a sky plus box soon I'm going to pop!

geordieminx · 12/04/2008 22:12

we have the 623 channel, have to say, ds loves it.. .its on most of the day, although mainly as background noise while we play with educational toys and such like . I am ashamed to admit i know most of the characters such as pitch and potch, tulli the purple slug thing, and the egg birds! Its good as there arent any adverts, and the have a good mix of cartoony type things and tradition nursery ryhmes

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 12/04/2008 22:20

Last half term they put it on as a freebie - along with some of the disney channels and the littlies loved it.

I'd deffo have it on if it were free, but am not going to subscribe to the childrens channels to get it

derah · 12/04/2008 23:23

We've just gone from Virgin to Sky and are very very very sorry we moved. Sky are rubbish! Virgin ain't great either, customer service-wise, but their product is much better. Our Virgin broadband was fabulous, our Sky broadband goes down a couple of times a day. Sky's TV guide is crap, their mini-guide is even worse (can't get any programme information from it) and they don't have a 'back' button to go back to whatever you were watching if you decide you didn't want to change channels after all (or to flick between two programmes at once). Virgin's On Demand is brilliant too. We can't wait for our Sky contract to end so we can go running back to Virgin.
