For feeling a little dissapointed in my dad ?

As some of you know, I have been having trouble with xp harrassing me.

I have changed my mobile number because of this, and txt it to my dad last night.

I heard nothing back, so when he signed into msn I asked him if he'd got the txt. He had got it and asked me if i'd got a new phone. I said no and explained why i'd had to change numbers, explaining briefly exactly what xp had done, and my dads reply was 'ok, got to go, bye'

I was and still am, a bit upset that my dad didn't seem to give a stuff. I thought he might ring me today to see what was going on, if I was ok etc, but he hasn't.

I know I probably am being a little unreasonable, but I was quite gutted that he didn't seem to care.

Don't worry too much, lots of blokes (especially older generation) don't go overboard on this kind of stuff even though they do care a lot!
for you about harrassment, hope changing the number helps. Try not to be too upset with your Dad, some people's minds don't go beyond "request for info....info obtained...switch off"

I think some people (especially men, ESPECIALLY men of a certain age) don't deal with things like this v well (problems, emotions, feelings etc). I don't think they know how to handle it / what to say.

My dad is exactly like this, he would probably react the same way.

Don't think it means he doesn't care though. Quite the opposite, I imagine he v angry a man has treated his daughter this way.

Yeah, I know he does care really, he just doesn't show it sometimes.

I need to remember that because in a reversed situation i'd have rung him straight away to chec k he was ok, that doesn't mean he would.
